Almost 100 posts and I realized I never said hello!
Been around chevelles.com for a while but i've found myself here more often these days. So HI everyone!!!
I've got a mildly modded PT 66 Malibu. I bought it in July of 2007 with a anemic 307 and a horribly slipping powerglide. I knew that motor and trans had to go asap! At the time I had just recently sold a fully restored #'s matching 70 SS Chevelle Convertible. Owning the 70 made me realize cars are meant to be driven. I sold it since it was a never-driven-glorified-garage-queen. Getting the 66 was like starting with a new slate. Starting with a car that was already rough around the edges, not numbers matching, not a frame-off, really gave me some freedom to build the wanna-be daily driver car i've always wanted. It has since taken on the PT flavor and I hardly even drive it once a week! Go Figure...
I went through one engine build which was my first ever complete tear-down and rebuild of a stock 2-bolt 355 SBC. I also bought a used 200-4R to go with it. After about 6 months of that I realized what I really wanted was an LSx for simple driveability and mpg. Then the bug hit me the hardest... I wanted more suspension, I wanted brakes, and I wanted frame stiffining... it was pretty much downhill from there and my time and wallet went down in a ball of flames. LOL
This was a few months after I bought her. I had just installed the TT2's thinking I would be happy with them for the next 10 yrs. Little did I know...!?!
This is how she sits now.
* Stock pull-out LS1 and a 4L60E
* Factory 10-bolt 2:73
* C6Z brakes F/R
* 18/19 wheels
* BMW ellipsoid projector headlights
* SC&C Stage II front suspension
* C3 Fabrication Rear Suspension arms
* Hellwig F/R sway bars
* Flowmaster Exhaust System
Hoping to upgrade to...
