      Sway Bar Reccomendation for Quadra-Link

There is a 1" bar and a 1-1/8" bar. Which one are most of you using and why? I know through the searches, DSE didn't use to have rear sway bars for the Q-link.

What size if any do you have on the front? Rule of thumb is at least one size smaller on the rear.

I bet I've only connected my rear bar 3 times, I would stick with the smaller bar.

I know this is old, but I forgot to buy the bar, now I'm about too. I have the DSE frame, what is meant by one size smaller?

You typically want to run a smaller bar than the front. So if you have a 1.125" in front, use 7/8-1"in back.

Makes sense, but the sway bar is not round on the DSE frame. It's like a splined arm,

This is goos stuff to know. I was gonna go with the 1.125" rear to match the front. Is this going to lead to massive oversteer?

I'll be using 325 or 345 tires on 19" wheels on the quadralink.

Depends a lot on the rear spring-rate. Big springs/big bar...no bueno! Ask me how I know.

There should be a bar going across the frame that the splined arms attach to. The arms themselves are just attachments to the sway bar.

Lz, what are u calling big? I'm gonna have 650# front springs and the rears on the quadralink are the standard 250. What are u running?

I have a 1 5/16" front sway bar too. If the rear is supposed to be smaller than the front, is the difference between the 1.3125" front and the smaller rear of 1.125" enough? That's a difference of .1875 (3/16").

Comparing the size of the rear to the front is pointless, rates are what matters.

650# springs on what? DSE sub? If yes, you will want to up the rear springs to 350# or more depending on intended usage. The 1 1/8" rear bar works well with the softer springs though, but you really don't need it when you start adding roll resistance through the spring rate.

I would even consider going higher in the rear, I'm up to 450# in both of our cars.
You guys with first gen's posting set-up info doesn't really mean much. The bar combination on Deb's first gen is totally different than my second gen even though I have both cars sprung very similar. The first gen's like a lot more rear bar than second gens do, I have a 1.250 rear bar on hers, mine has a .750 rear bar that I rarely ever connect since it makes the car way too loose.

I would contact DSE for a recommendation. Their rear bar has very long arms so it should be softer than others of equal diameter.

I have been preoccupied I forgot to call them. I'm pretty sure the rear springs that come with the Qlink are 250lbs. The instructions don't mention any spec'd for the DSE frame bar or reccomendatons for a rear.

I procrastinated, I think DSE is closed for the long weekend. Can I go wrong with the 1-1/8?

I went with the 1 1/8" per DSE's recommendation. They told me they sell way more of it. Not sure if drag guys are using them or what though. I figured I would trust them. I may not even hook it up sometimes.
