New Engine Oil Filters...What to expect? Nothing?

      Gents,

My new LS1 has about 250 miles on it...Bored so I went a head and cut open the two used filter I swapped out. Much to my surprise....I didn't find anything. Looks like oil soaked paper...

Wasn't I suppose to find all kinds of metal slivers, castings, and what not from the break in process?

Not necessarily. if your engine was properly cleaned and assembled AFTER proper machine work and clean up and assembled in clean area and especially if it has roller lifters then you should get little if any residue.
      Sounds good so far.

:Mine was the same after my breakin and Dyno runs. No residue or chunks of anything. Just clean oil which is a good thing.

Sounds like my regular race engines, cleanliness is next to good workmanship.
