Did you attach the roll cage to the farm or just to the body?

Basically, I had a hard time deciding if I wanted to put a cage in the car. I always had a very clean, original interior and I wasn't sure I wanted to disturb that, but I also wanted 6-point harnesses and the additional chassis stiffening. I decided to do the cage but make it easily removable If I (or eventually my son) ever decide we want it gone. It looks like it just bolts to the floor but I have standoffs under the floor that tie into the frame. Another benefit is I can still lift the body off the frame just have to unbolt the cage.

Don't worry the grade5 bolts are just temporary. I will order some nice ARP bolts eventually.

This shows how the cage ties in under the car. Im probably going to rework this crossmember to get it up closer the floor. This one was easy because it was just three straight pieces of tube but I think I should build one that kicks up toward the floor.

Nice shocks!! You are going to love them. I'm happy to help you out when it comes time to dial them in.

Can you show some pictures of how your main hoop attaches to the floor, and the frame stand offs? I'm picking my car up from the fab shop today after my roll bar install and I'm curious to see how my install varies from yours. You have done a great job so far on yours.

This is how I did the main hoop. It was more of a PITA since I had to rework the floor to make it flat. Also had to make the lower plate threaded because I wont be able to access the bottom of this spot to put nuts on. There is a short standoff under the floor here just like in the trunk area.

WOW! That's a lot of work to make it removable, I just built mine so I could raise the body up off the frame enough to weld it all easier and figured if it had to come off that would be enough room to to get the cage out if I ever needed to. Yours is a hell of lot more surgical though and should still pass tech if you wanted it to. Oh and I'd just go with some grade 8 bolts ARP would be overkill.

      Awesome build btw!

I agree lol ..but it didn't cost anything!! The labor doesn't bother me too much. It's some of the super expensive parts that drive me crazy.

Thanks for the pics, awesome work.

We don't have kids and have almost never had anyone ride in the back seat, so I took the easy way out with a permanent rear seat delete\4 point bar setup...but I can greatly appreciate the work you put into keeping your street car track safe. It isn't an easy task for sure.

I am a big jeep guy and it helps getting those gaps nice and tight. Great looking jeep and GN and look forward to seeing more progress
Thanks for the tip! My paper towels had too much on the roll to waste but I found the cardboard from a TP roll. Works awesome, Its practically a slip-fit over 1-5/8" tube! (rebuilding my crossmember, curved for more clearance and stronger)

      Justin,
      Nice. nice work!
Would love to see pics of how you ended up mounting the LCA's to the frame and how you worked out the trunk hinge.

I'm curious about your a/c delete plate. Can you tell me where you found the stainless button head bolts for you block off plate? Also what is the size of those bolts? I can't find those anywhere. Thanks for any help.
