      Recaro Specialist

As the exterior of my '69 Camaro project is getting closer to completion, it is time to start thinking about the interior. I originally wanted some GTO seats because I had a GTO and they were the best stock seats I have had on a car. They are big though...too big I fear for a 1G camaro.

I have pretty much decided on the Recaro Specialist but have a couple questions I am hoping people can help me out with. First...S or M? They say the M is better for "large" people. Not quite sure what this means... I am 6'5" and 190 lbs, tall I am but wide I am not. I'd prefer more bolstering, I like to feel I am sitting in a sit rather than on it, and when I take a turn hard I want to feel the seat holding me in place.

Next up, do they only offer the stock options I see around? I am pretty much game for their black leather seat, but I'd like to get some custom stitching if possible to match the exterior of the car and just be a little different. In addition I'd like to get some extra leather for the back seat so it matches perfectly.

I'd appreciate any help/comments from people who have used these seats, dealt with vendors to customize, and vendors who may be able to help me out.

      Thanks!

I would probably suggest the smaller/normal seat size. I have a pair of the OEM specialists from an older VW (I think thats what they came out of) and they fit me great. I am a taller dude like yourself, 6'4" and 205, and if the "S" seats are similar in size to mine, my asumption is that the "M" would be too wide. The rest I can't really speak on.
      Good luck
