      installed the MASS-FLOW fuel injection crappy miliage....

      starts up in the morning just fine A/F at cruising is 14.9 to 15.4 never achieved those numbers with my 750 HP carb, but did a fuel mileage check and very depressed i got 11.55. i got 12-13 with my carb. Mass-Flo stated i could get 18 to 20 so don't know what to do. should have went all LS

      If you just installed it, give it time to "learn" before getting too upset. My Chevelle went from about 8/9 mpg to about 12 mpg after the install.

      i have about 200 miles on it...and your right about there customer service it really sucks..i will give it more time

      If you have questions, look up "My427stang" on this forum. He has a Mass-flow system and seems to be pretty knowledgable about how it works and can give you tips on how to make it better.

      Haven't been around much, but think we got where we needed to be. FWIW, some small changes go a very long way with the tuning, but it requires a little dough to be able to get into the system. I like shutting off deceleration fuel, increasing O2 sensor delay, increasing the decel rate the IAT motor allows, and adjusting injector timing to match cam events. In the scope of programming, it's pretty minor, but it sure makes them happy on the street.

      Might not be a terrible idea to have it tuned professionally afterwards, to tweak the "auto-tune".

      There really is no "auto tune" with an A9L, all it does is make a copy of the original program and tweak a few parameters. The learning function on almost all computers is pretty limited.

      The key is to take the stock 5.0 tune that comes with the Massflo and match the current engine. You certainly could dyno tune it, but those are such basic parameters on a dyno that it's better to log and trend in real use IMHO, especially if you wire in a WB O2 sensor. In addition, there are some pretty good log analysis programs now that can help as well.

      There are a bunch of guys working tunes nowadays, so its pretty easy to find someone willing to experiment locally. Nice thing is, if you don't like what you have, just upload the last one you liked and delete the experiment

      my427stang and surf wagon what kind of gas milage are you getting now that you have driven it for a while as I have been considering their mass-flow system as I'm running a 282/286 510 lift cam and my vacuum should be about 12" at idle

      I get about 14 with a mix of in town and highway, that's a 489 cid, cam is 242/248 @ .050 / .595 lift, with a 5 speed and 4.11s. I can get more on a long trip, much less if horsing around

      My427 I know this is a old thread but how do you get into there system to make the changers

      forgive me if it is a stupid question complete newbi when it comes to EFI

      I have the Mass-flo system ( I have had it for years but only now fitting it )

      I installed one of their system on a 409 in my 61 bel air. Was running really lean on WOT and they insisted it was an install problem, kind an a-hole really. Their ECU is old tech and the self learn was marginal. Gave up on them and had a tunable chip installed in the brain and had it dyno tuned and never had another problem. Sold car with all the tech info so I do not remember the manufacturer of the chip but not hard to find.
