I'm sorry Carl couldn't be there.

As I mentioned for you to tell Carl, as much as you will like BIR, you will Love Road America!! Lot's of elevation changes!

Turn One at BIR is a full throttle gas to run through with a nice subtle banking to it!

Here's my then "Stock" AMX in 1995 at BIR in turn one at 120 MPH so you guys can see this part of the track.

Here's a Doug Rippie ZR-1 Corvette in turn one during testing back in the '90's.

James did great! The short course was my responsibility, so James had not studied it prior to the event. That makes it an even better accomplishment to still finish first in class. Congrats Amigo!

      Day 7 - Road America

First run on Road America is in the books. Wow - this track is fast (and I will admit, scary)!

My strategy coming in this morning was to take it relatively easy this on the first run, get to know the track, and push a little bit harder in the afternoon. For the record, I'm going to stick with that explanation when I see my times...

The honest truth is that this track is scary fast and intimidating as heck the first time you see it. 150 mph in to turn 1 in 5th gear followed by bumping off the rev limiter in 4th heading down the next straight and, eventually, the long and twisty back straight in toward Canada corner.

We'll see how this afternoon but I'm hoping for 2nd in class, at best, and I'll take whatever I can get at this point...

      Good Luck this afternoon!

It's an amazing track and running through the trees down to turn 5 and through Kettle Bottoms enhances the rush and the sense of speed!!!!

Good luck James. Although I have never been there, it is one of my favorite tracks to online race on. How fast are you taking the "Kink"?
