      oldsmobile flowtech headers #11150

For the oldsmobile guys..I have a 72 Cutlass "S" 350 rocket...and looking to get these flowtech headers

      http://www.summitracing.com/parts/BIG-11150FLT/

Only thing it says that it won't fit the S model. Do any of yall know if this is true or not? I been searching and searching on every forum/topics I can but haven't came close to finding an exact answer. Seems like they want me to get the ceramic coated but they look exactly the same. I don't want to shell out anymore since I'll be painting them to match the engine.

Can any Cutlass S guys tell me if they have these headers on their 350? Or if any other inexpensive set around that I can try. Oh and every time I find a used set they're gone by the time I can get a hold of the person selling them lol.

You can check on Classic Oldsmobile.com, but as far as "S" models are concerned, I found conflicting info as well, but judgement tells me an A body, smallblock Olds will fit unless you have a 4spd? We also plan on cheap Flowtech headers and Spintech muffs with x-pipe and zoomies ;)

They fit no problem. I have 2 inch on the 442 but I am running a 455. There is no difference in any of the Cutlass/442 models that would effect header fitment. You might have a few areas that are close but overall fitment will be fine.

Thanks for the update!!!..we have not ordered them yet as we are still to get the car block sanded and painted for the cheapest amount possible to go with our whole budget build.

If you want to have them ceramic coated send them out to a vendor of your choice that specializes in coatings. Hedman uses a rather thin coating and charges you about the same price. I had mine done by HTC in Utah,, came out real nice.

Well here's a small update...I went with some brand new stainless steel headers after finding some on ebay for a really good price. LT w/3" collector for 190 w/free shipping..not bad. I'll be installing them very soon.

There has been an ongoing discussion on these over at realoldspower HERE for a while now, the general consensus is they fit good on drivers side and need a little tweaking but fit on the passenger side. Also some are concerned with kinks at the bolt holes, but for $200 to your door they look pretty nice...

      New headers

Well I had the headers now for quite some time so I finally decided to get them on the car now...These are some Ebay Stainless steel ones I bought for 190. I almost got the driver side in but will have to wait to get some anti-seize for the gasket and might need some help as well to make it easier. And it got dark so will have to wait for another day. I done headers on a 3rd gen camaro a long time ago and forgot how it's a pita to add headers especially when I hate being under the car in tight spaces lol. I should have just got them installed somewhere but oh well. Oh and sorry I haven't been on here lately..but here's the link to ebay where I got them at. I'll definitely let yall know how they fit and If I'm happy with them. They seem pretty solid and they sure are pretty lol.

Yup only thing is that it don't come with reducers like it says in the ad and the bolts that come with it won't fit the thread on the head. So I'm just going to use the ones I took off since they r free. Now I know why I was in desperate need of headers since the old manifolds were leaking from all over the place. I should be able to drive it without no more fumes making me sick to my stomach lol. It's crazy how bad I really need to clean that motor from built up sludge and dirt that's been hiding under there. I'll be adding an H-pipe and some knock off 40 series flowmasters I bought off CL cheap. I'm a flowmaster kind of guy

I know I was SUPPOSED to pull the engine out to replace some gaskets, and make it all pretty...buuuuut...never got to it lol.Flowmasters are nice, and I have also found the ebay knock offs that we will consider as well. Since we are going with the zoomie style tailpipes in front of the rear wheels, I think if we can swing it, Spintech muffs are simply the most evil sounding muffler I have ever heard. There is a cutlass 442 on youtube with a 468 running spintech mufflers, and it sounds just brutal!..lol

So far here's my progress on my header install...I'll post up pictures later if anybody needs them. I couldn't find any kind of pics on what everybody been saying about control arm and denting the header and of course the bolt that will cause issues...so just replace it with a stud bolt which will be my next step. Hope this helps anyone out there that's been looking for a few tips.
