      Stuck Autometer tach

New tach. say 1 month with low use. started being jumpy between 2200-2500 and then revved to 3k and now tach is stuck there. Connects are tight. I am told Autometer will fix but time is not on my side. Is there a simple fix diagnosis to this issue? Tach hooked up to coil. engine runs. cycled key a few times and needle just has an initial tick when ignition is turned on but doesnt move otherwise.

I had something similar happen a couple times when I had a short. I forget the exact sequence but basically I kept disconnecting it and reconnecting it (power and ground) and it eventually came back
