76 Chevy Monte Carlo project Thumper

      Hey my name is Greg. I have a 76 Chevy Monte Carlo that I'm building. I haven't seen anyone build a 73-77 A-body Retro-mod.

I cut 3 inches off the blankets. Flush and tuck the front bumper. I just put day running lights/turn signals in.

Very cool! I had a 75 Monte in high school. Everyone thought I was crazy for hot rodding it, but I did it anyway. It was set up for drag racing but if i could do it again I'd Pro Tour it.

I had a 76, Black with a beige velour interior. A warmed 350 replaced the plug foiling 305 after I bought it. It went the way of the rust gods years ago...

Mine had the 60/40 front bench. It was very nice car. I started working on it to fix the rust but it was just to far gone.
I have a set of swivel bucket seat brackets I am thinking about using under the two rear seats in the van..

I'm going use the gt500 vent for the cowl vent.

Any ideas or where to get a closeout panel?

I'm heading up to Laramie, WY for school at Wyo Tech.

I installed a cowl hood once with rivits and then glassed over the seam and it cracked within a year. I don't know if I didn't scuff up the metal hood enough, but they have different rates of thermal expansion so when the sun beats down on it, they want to come apart. My flange was pretty thick though. If I were to try it again, I'd probably use some kind of 2 part epoxy like what they use to glue body panels on. Good luck though, cool project!
