68 Firebird "68 Widetrax"
This is a project I started 13 years ago as someone's left over parts car. At that time Pro touring was just getting started. But I always liked the old Trans Am and IMSA look cars. Here is my attempt to release my interpretation.
This is when I had just gotten all of the welding and grinding done on the quarter.
Just showing some of the pie cuts it takes to bow a quarter panel in 3 inches, in just 18 inches.I had to weld the original quarter back on 3in out to be able to use a patch panel. The patch panel does not have the crown at the top, and are made to be spliced in on the quarters face.
This shows the 3in patch in the tail panel, and the 305/50/15 euro T/A's I used to jig the car with. they are on a modded pair of Craiger SS wheels that I made 14 inches wide. This is where it is today, I used some fibrefill bondo to seal the welds and keep them from corroding.
