      Serious road-race "55 chevy" replica

Long story, but the fact that I haven't been on this forum for over 3 years kinda says it all. My project hasn't even been looked at since then - so I thought I'd feel out this soft market and maybe pass it onto someone who will work on it.

If nothing else, it's a hell of a pile of custom-built parts. The round tube chassis and suspension are all from scratch - even the uprights. Runs a dry-sumped 383 chevy and 5 speed richmond (doug nash) box. Corvette rear with custom multi-link IRS.

The aim was always to get a car to beat my old GT40 replica - so 170mph+, 1g corners, under 2000lbs.

So, what's an unfinished project like this worth these days? Trust me, I'm not expecting a lot of interest, but I figured I'd ask here first where at least you guys understand what I was doing..

great idea to do to my 41 willys gasser project I lost interest in. my willys in in the same condition of build and no takers in the past year for $10k ..it sucks when you have around $20 into it.

Looks like a great project! I feel your pain though...I have a project which is worth more than the original car and been trying to sell it for 3 months already with no luck. Just the parts alone are worth more than the asking price...and that project is finished! Hope you have better luck!

Thanks Manuel! I figure it is worth a try if only because it's a little different

Looks like a fiberglass body, Does it have a 55 vin and title? IMO, the chopped top limits its desirability, but I like whats under it!
