This is my 61' Impala "Barn find"... I'd like to go full PT with it one day but right now just want to get her road worthy. I'm prolly gunna keep the paint the way it is for a while, I kinda like it like that. List as of now is to freshin the motor/brakes, wheels/tires, interior...

Or even better when those know it alls walk by and start yapping about how their buddy used to have one of these rare 84 SS' exactly like yours, and it ran 11's bone stock, lol!

I've got a phantom 73 "RS" Nova build with/for my son on deck, I'll be going as far as making up RS literature and all for the show display. For myself I have a 74 street/strip Nova that will be headed to becoming a phantom "one of the last COPO Novas Chevy made, this one being the rare light weight version with the factory drag pack". It'll be a 496 with a hidden bottle disguised as a "factory" 402, low 10's and dog dished steel wheels up high are the goal. I'll have a phantom window sticker, literature, photo-shopped "Old" photos of it on an old now closed down drag strip in Michigan, etc.

Great Impalas everyone and looking forward to seeing more on the '84. Let me know if you need any phantom literature or stickers made up, I may be able to help you out with that.

Well THAT might be in future. I have a buddy working up some underhood labels, tags, warnings etc. Kind of cool after you see older GM stuff and take a pic, or find older cars near what your trying to duplicate and "steal" the "look" the fun part was finding a repro window stickers, then deciding what the option codes would be. when I get a little more finalized Ill send you some pictures of the stuff,,,,heck I have even thought of doing an owners manual "updated" to combine stock and "optional" information.
sometimes the fun comes in making these plans THEN following through.

While not an Impala, it is close enough.

Before picture, during and a rendering of what it might look like if I ever get it finished...

I've been slowly building this gigantic 71 Imp for a customer over the past few years. It'll be more of a cruiser with it's mildly built 454 and will get a white/blue interior. Currently been installing all of the polished or rechromed brightwork.

That's the beauty of hot rodding. Consider this: the carbeurator is still the number 1 aftermarket product made for hot rodders and it's still getting updated constantly...and it's 2012 for crying out loud!! The last carbeurator that rolled off the assembly line was what, 1983? Build that land yacht the way you want and have fun with it.

Here's a 65 Impala , at the American Street Car Series Auto-x in Syracuse NY, channeling it's NASCAR image .. 15" NASCAR styled rims , Manual Trans, aftermarket Dash and Gauges , roll cage, high revin Small Block Chevy

My first ride was a 66 Impala , Loved it and wish I never got rid of it... would love to to do a NASCAR version of one, with modern Pro-Touring Suspension , and a LS engine backed with a manual trans... Oh Yeah !!
