Cruise up to Heidt's Hot Rod & Musclecar Parts from Host Hotel

All of you out-of-towners....AND...all of you IN-towners. I'd like to organize a group cruise from the Holiday Inn in Joliet (host hotel) up to Heidt's facility in Wauconda for the factory tour. This is a 68 mile cruise on interstate highways. Could be a lot of fun with a large group.......think of it as Power Tour Chicago style!!

Let me know if you are interested so we can set a time

Darrin, I would think Heidt's would be more than happy to show off their facility. Come on with us, bring the new 'Vette!!!

We are supposed to be at Heidt's at 3pm on Friday. It's 68 miles if you take the tollways, I figure an hour and 30 minutes to get up there (Friday rush hour building at that time), so to be safe, meet at the host hotel at 1:30pm

Rick, riding with me would be fine by me, but up to the track officials!! The track opens at 7am on Saturday

I'm probably in. Depends on what happens for the commute to Ill to begin with.

I'm in and Matt Altamore is going to be with me when we arrive. We'll try to make it on time or meet up with the group as they go by the Elgin area.

Would it be possible for you to post the route, I am near O'Hare and am unsure if I would drive down to Joliet to come back north. However I could stop at the oasis on 294 or wait on Rt. 53 to jump in with you guys. I guess it depends what route you take but it seems like Rt. 53 to Rt. 12 would make sense.

That sounds like a good place for Matt and myself to possibly file in with the rest. I still have to talk to Matt and see what might transpire from this.

      How about this:

      I-55 North to I-355 North
I-355 North to Lake Cook Rd.
Lake Cook Rd (also marked as E. County Line Rd) west to Rand Rd. (Rte. 12)
Rand Rd. (Rte. 12) north to County Hwy 61 (W. Bonner Rd)
County Hwy 61 east to Old Rand Rd.
Old Rand Rd south to Kerry Ln, take a left
Heidt's is at 111 Kerry Ln. in Wauconda
      ------------------------------------------------------

Depart Holiday Inn (host hotel) at about 1:15pm

If anyone has any options to this, please chime in......like " Don't go that way dumazz there is construction on that road " LOL

Google maps show this route as 68 miles. With a 1hr/25min. drive time. Realistically, I'd say an 1hr/45min. drive as this is on a Friday afternoon.

This leaves many places for people to join in at any point.

Sounds good I will be waiting on a ramp somewhere along Rt. 53 or 355 whichever you prefer to call it.

We're there. We'd like to drop off the truck & trailer at the hotel before starting the madness anyway. This will give us the chance to do that, and to hook up with the rest of the group. Look for the wagon! You'll probably hear it first, though...

Same here with leaving the truck and trailer at my hotel and will meet up at Holiday Inn around 1pm. This sounds like fun.
