67-69 Camaro and Firebird Skid plate with tie downs

We are now offering these Skid Plates for your 67-69 Camaro and Firebird.
They are lazer cut from 1/4 in. steel and weld to the bottom of your subframe to reinforce the area for jacking up the car. They also incorperate tie down hooks to strap your car to the trailer.
We also put weld slots in the plate for a cleaner look, just weld up the slots and grind smooth.

Price for this item is $ 75.00
We should be ready to ship by next week.

      Thanks,
      Brian

Interesting part and I like the idea and incoporated tow hooks. Looks a little bulky, do you have a smaller surface area one. Wow 1/4"? what is the weight?

      Thanks

      Brett,
The part weighs just under 5 lbs. No we don't have one with a smaller surface area. We wanted something large enough to cover the damaged area common on these subs from jacking.
We could do it out of 3/16 but don't think it's going to save that much weight.

      Thanks,
      Brian

I like it. Wonder how it would look if you actually cut out that portion of the frame and welded that in so it looks seamless.

Wow! Thats a pretty neat product there! Dont know how I missed this thread from last year! I have 2 questions, the piece you show in the earlier posts have slots cut in it for plug welding to the subframe, but the ones you just posted dont have it. Is that a newer version and how are they mounted in the new posts? Also, is that area of the subframe generally flat or will we have to contour the plate a bit to match up with the profile of the subframe?

Same Part, I just welded up the slots and ground the welds smooth for a clean look. Sub is flat in that area, we just clamp all four corners with vise grips and weld up !

      Thanks,

I really like these, but have the same issue that AintQik has...already powdercoated my frame. What about a bolt in version? without looking at my sub frame, I can't recall if there is anyway to get a nut or wrench in the sub frame. What about a version that wraps up around the back of the subframe. Then if you bolted it on, the bolts wouldn't carry the load when pulling the car. Just a thought...
