Come join in on the fun and run your heart out on the full SCCA Autocross! Only $35

We would like to invite everyone to the 8th Annual "A Day At The Strip" The event is held on July 16th - 17th 2010. The show is at the Mid-American Air Center in Lawrenceville, Illinois. This is where the "World Series Of Drag Racing" was held in 1956. So this gives you a chance to take your vehicle down the original drag strip (single timed runs only). This is where the first 150 MPH pass was made! Lots of history here.

Saturday the 16th is an Autocross Sponsored by ridetech, Tracy Electric Speed Stop Challenge, Carbon Kustoms Cruise and Cruise In.

Sunday the 17th is the Single timed runs on the 1/4 mile strip sponsored by Bowler Performance Transmissions, Royal Purple Show & Shine Car Show & the BBQ Dinner Sponsored by Detroit Speed.

Thank you to the following sponsors: Detroit Speed & Engineering, BFGoodrich Tires, Carbon Kustoms, Royal Purple, Pro-Touring.com, Lateral-G.net, Lawrence County Votech Center, Phantom Products, ridetech, Rucker's Candy, Max 96.7, Rides Mass Transit, Robinson Excavation, Financial Services, City Of Lawrenceville, Weston's Lawn Service, Lyons Raceway Park, Tracy Electric, 1/4 Miler's Club and Lawrence County Chamber Of Commerce.
Come and enjoy the weekend. There is a car show, The Roadster Shop BBQ Dinner, Drag Strip (now a air strip), Ridetech Autocross, Baer Brake Speed Stop Challenge, and BPT Cruise on Saturday night. For $35.00 you get in both days, which includes a T-shirt, dinner for two, runs on the Autocross, Speed Stop Challenge and Drag strip. You can register the day of the show up until 3pm on Saturday or 11 am on Sunday. (we use the term unlimited lightly, there is a lot of cars that show up so you have to wait your turn), Saturday will just be a cruise in, Autocross Baer Speed Stop Challenge, no judging for show cars until Sunday. Sunday will be the car show, single timed runs, BBQ dinner and car show judging. Trophies for top 25 and custom built wooden trophies by The Woodman for the best of classes.

Where else can you do all that for $35.00? Take the drive and have some fun, tell your friends!

Go To www.dayatthestrip.com for more event info

Hope to see you there! * All Pro-Touring, Lateral-G, Sponsors & Vendors will get a special bonus on Saturday. You will run more laps than you can handle on the autocross with early entry onto the course!

Last year we stayed at the Comfort Inn in Vincennes for Day at the Strip and Midwest Muscle Car Challenge. Nice place and we'd like to go back there, but also want to be with the rest of the Pro-Touring guys.

Hotels in the Lawrenceville area pretty much do not exist, Vincennes Indiana however has many options and is within 8 miles from the show area.

      Holiday Inn Express | (812) 886-6333

      Super 8 | (812) 882-5101

      Comfort Suites | (812) 882-2244

      Best Western | (812) 882-1282

Several seem to be staying at the Holiday Inn Express, so far.

I want to thank everyone for coming out and supporting the 8th annual Day At The Strip. It was a hot weekend, but we had a great turnout. We had 187 vehicles show up to participate for the weekend. 50 competed in the Autocross, which as a huge course and everyone had a great time. I belive everyone ended up having between 20 - 30 runs! It was a battle most of the day for the lead time between, Kyle Tucker, Stacy Tucker and Brian Finch. At the end of the day Kyle took the win and got to take home the custom wooden trophy. The Tracey Electric speed stop challenge was also a great turn out, and the winner was Jeff Scott with a 1992 Typhoon, this was an awesome ride and he thrashed on it until he broke the front differential, but still won the trophy. The Karbon Customs cruise was a relaxing 25 mile ride winding through the Red Hill State Park and ending at the local Drive-In for a free ice cream treat to cool us down.
Sunday was another scortcher, but that didn't seem to stop anyone from beating on their cars once again on the Bowler Performance Transmission 1/4 mile timed runs. But no one could touch the 1940 Ford Panel called Helter Skelter, he walked away with the top speed and fastest time winning the trophy. The Detroit Speed & Engineering BBQ dinner was a crowd pleaser as we serverd over 400 dinners...

I want to thank all of the supporters of this event. Without all of you this couldn't be done!

Due to the event we were able to donate $1000.oo to the Lawrence county United Fund & $1000.00 to the Lawrence County American Cancer Society! That is what this event is all about! Thank you! This is a non-profit 501-3C Event and will always remain this way.

Thank you to all of the Pro-Touring members for coming to the event and making this such a success.

A Special thanks to all of the sponsors, especially the sponsors who took time out of their busy scheudles to come to the event!
