Anyone have a fender roller for rent??

Wanting to roll the lips on my rear fenders but don't want to spend the money on a roller to only use it once. Let me know if you have one to rent. Local would be awsome, I live near the Twin cities in MN.

      Thanks,

      Nick

While I'd love a plasma cutter, it's not the tool of choice for rolling fenders.

true I know that, but it would seem to eliminate the problem completely, plus it seems that if you role your fender, all kind of bad stuff could possible get in there? Plus my fender lips are already destroyed. Do you have a photo of the work after the plasma cutter? I kind of need to get rid of this

How much do they cost? We should get a group buy going and everybody buy into one and you sign up on the list and use it and then send it down the road to the next guy. You may think it wouldn't work out, but on another forum I am part of, they had a thread where somebody had a new product that they wanted people to try out and they fedex'd it from person to person with a journal to document the journey. It was neat to watch. I would like to use one, but I can't justify the expense. I may go with the ole baseball bat trick.

I rolled my fenders about 10 years ago... I used a 3" air cutter and sliced the lip every 6" ( be careful not to go too far where it would be visible from the outside), and while the tire was on I rolled the lip in using a bat... it was very simple and it looks good. May not be the best way but it works and best of all its FREE.

There is a different brand listed on eBay for about 150 or you can rent one for 5 days for about 62 bucks (I am including the shipping both ways in that) and a 220 dollar deposit that is refunded after the tool is returned.

I found a local guy who will be doing mine. I'd rather have someone with experience do it than worry about getting a tool and hoping for the best.

OK, so first off all you 69 Camaro guys good luck with the eastwood tool. 68 maybe; my 69 was a joke due to the shape of the opening. We had to use a hammer n dolly and it took hours!

Tech - that guy on LA Craigs is pretty busy. I spoke to him and he sounds like he knows what he's doing...

I just bought the dragway tool brand roller. It was used. I rolled my 69 fender lips slightly, but I ruined the threads (or they were already in bad shape) on the main shaft. Have to order new threaded rod. I would consider renting it when its fixed. On a side note- I had to unbolt the shocks from the rear end on the 69 (coil overs) and let the rear end drop lower for the roller to line up with the fender lips. It did work quite well. I used a hair drier to heat the paint.

Let me know, I would definitely be interested in renting it if you were up to it. Do you plan on rolling them any further? Pics when your done?
      Thanks
