Interior Path Forward - Rear Seats - 69 Firebird

      Afternoon ladies-

I have a question that I'd like to pose to the P/T interior gurus.

I have a set of good condition 69 Firebird convertible seats, complete with a good covering and solid frames. However, the car in question that I'm trying to finish is a 69 Firebird Coupe with a deluxe interior. I also have two deluxe frames that are a little rusty, but appear to otherwise be in good condition. The lower deluxe frame has been cut (by someone else) to accomodate the DSE mini-tub job.

So, the question is, would it be better to offer the convertible seats to a new home deserving of a set that isn't to be butchered (they'll have to be shortened, i.e. the frame will have to be hacked to fit the new mini-tubbed coupe)? If so, I'd have to get an interior shop to finish the hack job on the deluxe seat frames and get them to re-cover them. The other option would be to try and get rid of the deluxe frames to someone who is doing a mini-tub job.

Either way, I'll have to take the car into an interior shop to get the rear door panels re-covered anyway.

site note: The front seats are leather Recaro Specialist S, which aren't completely black, but a very dark gray. I'm not sure if the contrast would be "off" if paired with the stock rear vinyls.

Any thoughts would be appreciated concerning design or which way would be cost advantageous.

      -Keith
