Car is about 95% done. Just needs to be tuned and have the rear seat narrowed since the car is mini-tubbed.

Just got the engine put back together (long story). Pulled her out of the garage today and washed her for the first time since she's been painted (several years ago). After thanksgiving I'll to her to get tuned. The clutch is royally screwed up for some reason...no idea what is wrong with it. It takes the force of Hercules to press it in and it's not engaging the clutch all the way...only about halfway. Whatever...guess I'll have to pay someone else to fix it because there's no way in hell I'm taking the trans back out. I'm through working on this thing for a while. I'm almost more pissed than I am satisfied with this whole thing.

The nose on 69's doesn't really look that bad when you black everything out...

The car looks great. Nice photography too. Your other hobby?

I finally settled in Houston, so maybe we should get together.

Definitely. I should have the car running by mid-December and we can arrange to meet up; looking forward to it. Btw, Sam Hatco ( I believe he is on this board) is the head of a firebird club here in Houston. They arrange annual trips for firebird owners. Something to think about...

Hehe, yeah, photography is one of my other hobbies. Once your car is done we can arrange a shoot somewhere in town - I have a network of car/photography people here in Houston who get together and do shoots sometimes for fun.

Yeah, I actually joined the group and been to a couple of their outings. Nice bunch of guys. My bird is somewhat done. Need to sort out some drivability issues, and get the AC working (wasn't a priority when I was in WA. lol)

Just got the car back from the tuner. $2k later

They had to change out the push rods before they could tune it and patch a hole in the brand new Stainless Works headers. It's just money though, right?

Put down about 450hp at the wheel. Still debating on going with some 3" drop springs in the front. I may just go ahead and get it aligned and then drive it around a while to see if they drop some more. I will probably do the A-arm and coil-over thing as well as a 4-link next year anyway, so maybe I'll just save the coin for now.

Here is how it sits in my drive. The front is still slightly higher than the rear.

Heck if your saving just look at Ridetechs coil overs and tru-turn system,,,fixes lots of issues AND you can tune ride height to a degree.
And tru-turn lets bigger wheels up front.
As for looks with so much black its not noticeable to me but then I have an H body and newer (84) B body Chevys.

Interesting. I wasn't aware of that. I'd like to eventually run some wider tires up front. I have 245's now but wouldn't mind getting some 275's in there....not sure if I would have much of a turning radius though

I'll have to check that out...

The car probably won't be road-worthy by then (it's still not aligned, inspected, etc.) but I will definitely be cruising with you guys in the near future. What club do you belong to? I met a guy at Cars and Coffee a few weeks ago and he advised that there were actually two first gen Firebird clubs in Houston.

I belong to the HALF group. They're meeting at Cars & Coffee at Louetta/249, then cruise to Magnolia for lunch.
