battery is in.... anyone know of any good battery tenders?

I think I've found a way to get the NRG slim hub and the NRG slim quick release to work together. The tricky thing is getting the power to the horn switch. I think I'm going to use a spring to carry the power from the inner column to the switch. To make it work with the stock components, I'd have to cut the steering wheel shaft. After reading into the instructions, it states that the NRG slim hub is NOT designed to work with the NRG thin quick release. Lame and misleading . Oh, well. I plan on making it work without cutting the shaft.

Looking real nice. A great idea on the horns. Given the distracted driving going on a serious wake up is sometimes needed and you don't want to have a horn that goes "excuse me" you want "Wake the **** up!" when the jerk is wandering into your lane.

How do they compare to the factory horns is sound level?

I have them on my bugeye WRX. I'm not sure there's really a comparison that I can put into words. To put it in perspective, the factory horns sound like Tweetie Bird is politely requesting you to check your road behavior and the Hella Supertones sound like a hoard of demons escaping from the bowels of Hell.

      I highly recommend them

      A few more minor updates...

Getting the horn to work with the tilt column and NRG slim quick release hubs / quick release adapter. This adapter isn't the same as the thicker ones. When you mate the steering wheel to the hub, you have to turn the quick release, not the steering wheel. I used a spring to carry the current from the positive to the horn. A preliminary continuity test yielded that it should work when everything is powered up.

I had to widen that hole that the spring goes through, so the stock electrical connectors wouldn't work. After reading the instructions, they stated that the NRG quick release would not work with the NRG slim hub adapter. Well, they won't in stock form, but with a little cutting and utilizing the spring, they will work. I'm sure there's a better looking connection than using the spring (which I may explore later), but this will work for now.

As you can see, it's a lot thinner than the non-slim mounting options.

Also, I ordered some Lokar pedal covers, bud decided to go with the matching Momo Nero covers to match the steering wheel:

Now for the A/C...this little thing works like a champ! I got it from e-tools direct on ebay. I think it cost around $150. Worth every penny.

Some random pics throughout the installation...

I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!

Do you have the ebay link to that tool? I'm interested in buying one of those, since I'm about to do my VA installation.
      Thanks.

Thanks gents. I hope to have it wired up and ready to go in another month or two. The sauna outside really slows me down.

Thanks - hopefully the front end will settle a bit more. It has 2" dropped Hotchkis springs in it, but the lighter LS motor isn't allowing it to drop much at this point. I guess I'll try and do a rough alignment, drive it around some, and then take it in to get the official alignment done. I'd like the top of the tire to be even or slightly inside the top of the fender....not sure if that's going to happen with the current suspension though....

Car looks great. Do you still reside in Houston? I'll be moving to Houston in a few months, and it would be great to come by and check out your car.

I believe they're Forgeline DE3P's. 18's all around - satin hoop with a glossy rim. Check out my flickr. There's a folder called "Death Machine."
