      Spectre Cold Air Intakes

Do any of you guys have a Spectre Cold Air Intake? I'm thinking about getting the muscle car intake part # 865-716 with dual aluminum intake tubes. Will be going in my '69 Chevelle with 454 engine. Just looking for some input about this part before spending the money. Any opinions, good or bad??

      Hi,

I've had one on my '67 Chevelle for about one month now. I just finished my 2nd autocross after having it installed, and I have noticed a nice gain in quickness and response. It's helped a lot with my lack of torque in my engine. Butt dyno approved!

My Medusa is actually at the Spectre's shop for R&D, they are producing new intakes for the 1st gen Camaro’s. I was told by Dave from Spectre, that they do produce up to several hp gain. I toured their shop last Wednesday, they have an in shop dyno that they use to test all of their products. I’m attaching a few pics of the intakes that they mocked up on Medusa.

With the help and expertise of Ed from Fast Eddies, they are producing new body panels (front Air Dam and rear Spoiler) that I also loaned Medusa for the R&D on these products. They are very "pro-touring. I will also post pics, but be aware these are prototypes.

Help on 454 Big Block project

If you look under "engine miscellaneous" forum, I posted under heading "need help on 454 Big Block project" It was posted yesterday and it's about HP ratings, engine id codes, and block numbers on the engine I'm putting in my '69 Chevelle. If you could provide any info regarding that thread I will appreciate it. Thanks!

I like his design better. It's a true ram air design and uses plastic type tubing rather than aluminum which would prob keep intake temps down even more

That sucks! Cole is a great guy and had a hell of a product. Still with a little fab know how I think duplicating his design is superior. Maybe integrate it into a stock front spoiler like Steven Rupp did with the early penny. I think his were meant for brake ducts though. This is the route I am going.

Hey Jeff, The dual filter kit is called the "sidewinder" Call spectre and talk to Dave and tell him you want the same set up that "Medusa" has.

did you have to cut a hole in the core support to help get airflow to the filters?
