Exciting day for me - progress is moving along as parts are now going back in instead of being taken out

      Gas tank is in

engine and trans are in -very happy the new extra deep trans pan doesn’t drop low enough to worry about it

Very impressed with the clearance around the headers and oil pan - i can still put a full size oil filter on and there is lots of room around the steering box

Only hick-up is the drive shaft will need to be shortened 3/4” but that only takes a couple of days so no delay of game penalties there

      And a special helper...

      What’s left:
      -steering column
      -seats and belts
      -finish out the exhaust
-fabricate driver side mount for the watts link (hitting relocated shocks)
      -tidy up some wires

      I like it!
Which wiring harness is that? The fuse box looks similar to the Speedway 22 and American Autowire 20 but on these two, the labels are upside down when mounted as you have shown (also the same way I intend to mount mine). Zooming in on your picture, the labels are blurry but they look to be printed right side up.

Thanks guys - i can’t wait to get it on the road, its pretty much my daily driver during the summer months

Went with the American auto wire kit for 1st gen Camaro - had almost everything to do the job clouding new ignition and all the sockets

Seats are in with most of the interior

Even spent an hour trying to clean these 50 year old pieces up

1st event the day after I pulled it out of the shop

had some exhaust clearance issues, steering clearance issues and efi issues but with 358 miles on the 1st weekend I call it a success - new tires should help but I was able to shave 3 secs off the time over the 6 runs

Columbus GoodGuys was a blast, spent the whole time with my brother who lives there and i don’t see nearly enough (he’s the only sane one in the family) - beautiful weather and a learning experience getting confortable with the car set up - not the fastest car and missed the sweet 16 shootout by 4sec but very happy considering my budget and the limited amount of time in the car - i was able to shave almost 8 sec off my time from day 1 to day 2 with some suspension and tire pressure adjustments (i never would have thought to add more air pressure until i did some research) which made me very happy - next stop CAM Challange in Indiana where i’m Looking forward to meeting some more folks with cars like mine and learning something new

With my brothers car at the drag strip - happy with reaction times but 60 foot times sucked on street tires

      Staging area

Fought with my go pro and somehow having a hard time retrieving the vid with overlay but did get a good pic of the old girl

A vid my brother shot from the stands during one of the slower runs on the 1st day

Sadly he had the faster car but he also is running drag radial tires and i was on my fresh falkens that i did not have the right pressure in yet - needless to say my 60 foot times sucked - i did have better reaction times! He was too chicken **** to take on the auto cross and actually do some driving - lol - i even offered to let him be the 2nd driver I’m my car

Back at it again. Had a lot of fun last year with Autocross and decided no project is ever really finished so time for some upgrades.

Front now has truturn, double adjustable coil overs and 750lb springs - bigger wheels and rotors to come.

Rear is getting a similar treatment with z51 brake upgrade and double adjustable shocks

More parts arriving Friday with mods for some big rubber - 315 front 335 rear - so much for the simple ‘keep it looking somewhat factory looking’ from 10yrs ago when I first got her. Name: IMG_1746.JPG

Hmm, I'll be following along. Curious how you're going to fit 315 tire in the front. Flare/stretch the fenders?

Flares from Mr Vengeance - there isn’t anything really left from original 67 so I figure what the hell - with all the part support it can always be put back together in 20 years.

Was able to get brakes fitted today. Nice pieces from KORE3 and Tobin was a huge help in getting the pieces needed to do it right out of the gate.

Question: it’s hard to tell in this pic but there is only about 1/4” space between the truturn and the oil pan. Motor has solid mounts - I would think although tight it would be fine but has anyone had experience with it?

Nice work Don! Those brakes should bring the car to a stop in a hurry. I'm running the same Z51 front brakes and from the little I drove the car, it stopped very quickly. I'll grab that sway bar from you next time I'm in the area.
