Which ones? Tranny crossmember? If so then yes, I bought them from Welder Series (welderseries.com). They had a sale so I bought a bunch.

      A bit.

The project I'm working on right now is the structure for the strut towers. One of the keys to the stiffness of the front end of this car is the strut towers tying into the firewall, being a unibody car. So, I built some additional structure to add to the firewall to stiffen it up, and pretty it up while I was at it.

Then I built the strut tower support rods. Spun them out from some aluminum... Some days I think my goal is to build the car with no purchased parts... Man I'm an idiot... Dont seem to have any pics other than on my phone I think...

      Here they are in place:

      MMmmmmmmm..... Triangulation:

And I threw my steering together just to check some alignment and clearence.

Wes - Great job, as usual! Out of curiosity, how thick is the plate you used to make the mounts that the rod ends fit into?

Nope, direct from ford. That side fits like I designed it for the car though. The other side, not so much....

Its pretty light, 1/8" or a bit less maybe. Its tied into 16 guage steel so more that stron enough I think.

      Thanks Guys

Ya, it's frickin huge. The pedals under the dash sure help with fitment and IMHO are super trick.

Long weekend this weekend so hopefully my mill is back in operation so I can get my camber plates done and get this thing on the ground!

      Thanks for the kudos!

I've found a little bit of time to work on the car recently. I've been trying to get the front structure done while I wait for my mill parts to show up so I can finish some machining.

Anyway, It was starting to look like a car so I just started bolting stuff on. Here's a few pics.

I'm struggling with the Monte Carlo bar design. I'd like to have 2 parrallel 1" tubes with sheet metal between with speed holes. Just havent seem to have been able to come up with a design that I feel is the best balance strutureal ridgidity and good looks. Planning to use aluminum and I need to get some material as I used the last of my 1" tubing on the strut tower supports.

I've had a few people ask me for this but to be honest, its very difficult to measure stuff accurately in 3 dimensions. Prior to cutting the front end of the car off, I welded legs to the frame and used it for a template for mount points as well as wleded braces to stuff that was removeable. The rest was pretty much built to the car. These things arent very square and/or true so I ended up splitting differences alot to get things square and level. Anything I could come up with would be a rough guideline at best and to be completely honest, it'd be alot of work and time that I dont have.

      Sorry,

      Wes
