Vette and G8 have almost the same hp/tq numbers?! I guess I didn't expect that.

Nice garage update!...I love the floors, they will clean up easily and will be nice if you have to crawl around under the cars. I have garage and car envy after reading this thread...LOL

No - they where open, car really needs a tune. It was 15* hotter when I re-dyno'd and I did upgrade to the Z06 brakes, and heavier Zr1 wheels. So I'm thinking the hotter day, lack of tune, and heavier rolling stock cost me some power.

I'm not in QC... Im not 65+ and don't like to get dinner ever week. :bsjerk: I'm actually in Metrolina Corvettes, we do car shows, open track days, mountain runs, etc. Best thing - I pay no dues, and I'm not "obligated" to go to club events. I work 60+ hr weeks & choose to spend my free time as I see. You go to CMP a lot?

I was surprised as hell to see the G8 put those numbers down. I'm convinced it has a tune on it. I had the car only a week before I dyno'd it. The SLP headers, exhaust and CAI sound good on the car. The Vette has similiar mods.

Yeah John posted where I bought it from. I could have used 3 gallons, but I bought 4 and used the last one since shipping it back would have been a pain in the ass.

Everything looks great, especially your garage. How smooth was the Griots to put down? Is it self leveling?
What part of Charlotte? I was going to move there but ended up in Raleigh.

As long as the surface is clean its easy to put down.

Self leveling - not really i mean it is like paint - you put down a lot it will have a thick spot, but after 2-3 layers it levels out pretty much.

Had a Vette filled weekend, ended up driving about 200 miles up around the western NC mountains. I hit up part of the Blue Ridge Parkway and some mountain roads along the Pisgah National Forrest. I do have to say, I'm really glad I have the KDW2s and the Z06 brakes, they performed flawlessly!

& now my last mod before Power Tour...

Got in on group buy for a set of HID foglights, so I spent an hour or so putting them in. I have to say the look a lot better then the hallogens that I had in there...

      Before..

      After..

Both installed, and car finally back on the ground.

It'll be end of week earliest before I can get some night pics.

The car at the GM dealership getting some recall and TSB bulletins fixed. Gotta love delaminating roof's and what not...

Just hope I get it back before the Power Tour.

I lived in South Park for 3 years, I just moved out to Steel Creek.

I moved the weekend before the Maxton event, so no I didn't make it out there, I was too busy unpacking, you know how it goes. I hate moving.

I'm just looking fwd to the Power Tour in a few weeks.

Having another car payment sucks... haha.

The G8 GT value's have plumeted w/ Pontiac going under.

I actually bought the car through a Pontiac dealership thats getting the Axe, so that may be the reason I got a really good deal on it.

      Introducing: project I'm a moron...

So I bought a new shift knob off a member of the CorvetteForum from DSvettes for real cheap, got it and went to install it and results w/ this..

Yeah knob doesn't fit - apparently in 2008 they changed the shifter design, as well as the shifter arm design so I kinda got screwed.

So fast forward, a quick search on fleabay, and I found full shifter assembly out of a 2008 Z06, placed buy, and got a great deal on it.

I installed the full z06 shifter assembly tonight, had no issues and it bolted right in. Heres some finished pics.

The throw is a little bit shorter, and shifted really nice on the freeway tonight.

PS... the car is done for Power Tour!

Not really an update... but I changed my oil and clutch fluid tonight using my Power Tour swag from last year, and I got the car all packed up...

I leave for the Power Tour in 8 hrs, yeah definitely not going to sleep tonight...
