      Porsche 997 S4

Drove my Brothers car this weekend. Needless to day Wow!

Anyone know anything about theses cars? I have never driven a Porsche before or an AWD sports car before for that matter. This car really impressed me.

Well part of the reason I asked is form reviewing the specs its under 400 HP My 67 camaro with the LS2 will be 400. I was wondering how my camaro would compare to my Bros car.

Depends on the race really. An AWD car has tremendous advantages but also disadvantages. It's comparing apples to oranges really. Porsche are cool

My brother has a 997 4s with an Evo MS blower strapped to it. It puts down roughly 420whp. Its incredibly tame/docile but downright scary when you get into the throttle. Most recently at Streets of Willow he pulled off a 1:35.657 compared to my 1:35.684 in my camaro.

Not bad for a 40 year old car...

      Some pix.

GT3 only has 415hp at the fly. ;)

I think you meant the GT2? Which is 523hp

420 WHEEL horsepower. Thats 997 turbo power... The car is a real sleeper.

The 997 Gt3 puts down about 385whp to the wheels stock.

      His 997 evoms dyno:

My camaro dyno... This was with a bad coil. It was breaking up above 4k....

We've yet to run the cars in a drag race and I think its rather pointless, but its good to know an low dollar pro-touring camaro can hang with a 997 on a road course....

They are all that, YES the Camaro is cutting a killer time (not knocking it in any way) but with the same ammount of suspension mods on the Porsche (I am guessing the blower is all that is done to it) will make it even better.
A used 996 is about $18k, that will just get you started on a 69 Camaro.....I dont know what Rouge has in his and it none of my business but I bet its more than that.

It would be interesting to see how much the guy has into the Porsche....Im betting a lot more than 18K.....the point is , so many people dont think a muscle era Camaro, Mustang or whatever has even a prayer in ANY state of tune on a road course against a modern European car.....the fact is they very much do.....and its not all about price......Rouge is probably just like me......a Porsche just doesn't do a damn thing for him no matter how much of a lap time per dollar bargin it is......its not accounting class

997 4S = 87k base model + 15k for the evoms blower. No one is buying a 996 for 18k and taking it to the track. I love and admire his car, but I'd much rather go out there with a big block and make a lot of noise.

My cars on stock subframe with gmod, qa1's, hotchkiss sway, rear has hotchkis leafs and qa1s... Powertrain is a zz502 and a muncie m22.

I don't really care about pricing, as long as the owner is out there having fun. Sadly the pro-touring community is filled with a bunch of show queens and I can't get anyone to come out to play.
