Looking Good! Have you seen paint where they leave the patina and clear over it? Might be cool to save some of the history? Its neat to see that local people are getting some things done, without a garage. If I could only get going on my wagon.

Hey Mat! Long time no hear!

Yea, that faded paint is not patina.... it's just faded and peeling. The car has been repainted 3 times in it's life so far. Right now it resembles a chameleon color. When you look at it in different light, sometimes it will be blue, green, purple, white, or black. It's kind of interesting actually. If you rub your finger across the paint, your finger turns blue lol.

I think it's probably "that" time in the Gals life to get a full on make over..... I just hope that I can afford to do it right....

Let me know if you ever need any help with the Wagon or anything else!

I went to the Peach State Muscle Car event this weekend. Seeing Bill's Charger run the course gave me a little hope that the boats can do pretty well if setup right. It also gave me a little motivation to get back working on my car, since I didn't have one to take up there. I will try to get the car back on the road for RTTHs.

Damn, that sucks! I'll keep my eye open and ask around. What trades do you know?

I haven't seen a '65 Galaxie in Greenwood in a looooooong time. But within the last 3 weeks, I've seen two verts! One is for sell for $12000!!!!! It made me want to cut the top off of mine, throw some shotty paint on it, and put a $12000 For Sale sign in the window....

      Small update:

Progress is slow right now, but I did find some tires for cheap. They're 245/45/18 Hankook Ventus tires. It's hard to beat $40 for 4 tires that still have about 1/4 inch of tread left. Atleast they will get the car rolling again. Will mount and balance the tires next Wednesday.

Doesn't look like I will be able to take the car up to RTTHs in two weeks........ kinda a bummer. Still got too much to do!

This is a great thread. It cool to be be able to follow your build. We've been working on some very trick custom Galaxie pieces for Jay Leno, but the more interest we get the better.

Call us to discuss the options for your car. We'd love to be a part of your family history!

Can you post the parts that you offer or will be offering?

They mainly talked about the rear suspension in the video. They didn't say anything about the front, or springs at all for that matter.

Haha, ran into the same problem on my Monterey. 2002 Crown Vic Police Interceptor front springs are a pretty good drop (not into the weeds like your photoshop though!), and stiffen it up quite a bit. Just in case you needed something to get you by until you bag it.
