Removed the old leaking radiator today after work. Very simple process... 4 bolts and 2 hose clamps!

As you can see for the pictures, there isn't much to this radiator. 1" thick core, downflow radiator.

Ordered this to go in its place:

      http://www.summitracing.com/parts/GRI-1-26202-X/

The available space for the radiator is 24" wide/22" high/4" deep.

I will have to fab up some bracket-ry to mount it, but other than that I should have plenty of room.

Griffin had a direct fit, smaller, downflow radiator but it was very expensive and didn't seem like what I needed. I hope that I can get this one to work with whatever motor I decide to go with in the future though...

Let me know how that radiator works for you. I bought a new one for my 66/289 but need to get an aluminum one.

Sure thing. Working on the mounts right now. The top mount still fits, but the new radiator is 3" shorter and 1" thicker than the stock one at the bottom so the bottom mounts are in the process of getting widened and lengthened. I checked everything and the fan will clear very easily, so no problems there.

For a little safety, you may want to cut some carboard and tape them to the radiator to protect it while you pull it in and out for fitment. It protects the fins.

      Cool project!

Way ahead of you Tony, but thanks for keeping me straight! Hopefully this car will be as nice as that beautiful Camaro you flaunt around....

Well, the last few days I have been struggling to comprehend the aspects of the performance brake pedal assembly. Finally when I understand it, I realized that more modification will be required NOW rather than later.

See the Pedal Talk thread here: https://www.pro-touring.com/forum/sh...ad.php?t=59467

Nice build. That's going to be a sweet ride when it's finished (Well, they're never really "finished") haha

Haha Thanks! It's a sweet ride in my head right now.... I hope everybody else sees the potential. It's big and different I guess.

Still working on the pedals. Bearings came in, so now I'm looking for a welder. The radiator is in, but I've just been taking my time with that and working on fitment issues (mainly modifying my lower brackets right now). I will update very soon.

Here is a cross between the two photochops from the first page. I did this one in paint so don't laugh!

      My vote for #2:

      (I don't like body-colored wheels)

That blue in the last set of pictures is HOT. I like that.

I hope I am not infringing on your post by posting the following picture, But it may help you in your hue of blue and which way you may go. I painted this 66' for customer last year.
IMHO, it was too long of a car for that vibrant of a blue. I talked him into doing the roof a pearl white to break it up a little. But the customer loves it and that is what matters in the end.

I wonder what the second pic would look like with the long body lines on the side in the gunmetal wheel color.
