Prices vary depending on what shape the seats are in. I've seen them from around $500 to $3000 (asking price for a brand new set---front & back--out of a coupe). Also, take into consideration that seats are expensive to ship.

Hey Jocko, did you mount your seats to the exisitng OEM seat mounts, or did you remove them in order to mount these seats? Just curious. Also, how is the headroom to the headliner? Looks good!

      Dave,
Only the inner mount points were used because the M3 seat track width is wider than the originals. Also, my car never had any seat mounting brackets so they fabbed a set for the inner side. As far as headroom, it's decent. I currently don't have my headliner in, but the top of the headrest is 6.5" from the roof. I'll try to post some pics in a bit.

Man those seats look great!! I never would have thought to put those in a camaro but it works. Did you buy them off of a wrecked car or did you go some other route??

Do they require a controller for the locking mechanism?

I (I say I, a friend fitted them for me) bolted the BMW seats to the floor. They need five holes making (there is an extra one to strengthen the seat belt mounting), he then bolted through the floor into pieces of angle iron under the car. This has spread the load, the seats are really strongly mounted and all the original mounting holes are still there to put the original seats back in. The only area of concern is that the wiring harness is right at the bottom of the seat and the cable does drag when you move the seat back and forward. They very rarely get moved so it’s not much of a problem. As for wiring up the motors you need to connect power and earth to pins 13 and 14 on the wiring harness and they work just great. Obviously the memory doesn’t work as you need the ECU for that.

The sits fit very snugly into the car right up against the consul but they look great. I need to get a better steering wheel to go with them now.

I'll try and get some more pics for you guys.
I just bought some E46 convertible seats as well and had a few questions.

How do I know which pins are 13 and 14, does someone have a schematic?

when mounting the seats, did you align the front of the tracks to where the original tracks started or did you mount them further up or further back?

Would you happen to have pics from under the car showing the angle iron and mounting?

I was also lucky enough to talk the guy out of the control unit that is in the console for the heated seats, so I may just try to find the connectors for the back of the switches on the console and the connector for the seats too....any thoughts on where to find those electrical connectors?

      thanks guys!

Will the tracks work in the Chevelle or are new seat tracks needed?

The tracks are flat so they should work. You may have to drill some holes in the floor. I put them in my firebird vert and they fit. Used the mounting holes in the tracts and drilled right through the floor and backed the bolts up with structural washers under the car.

Sorry it took so long, but I've been extremely busy lately. Here are some pics of the mounting points.

      Interior mounting bracket:

      Left front mounting point (exterior/outside):

      Left rear mounting point (exterior/outside):

Side pic of left rear (exterior/outside) mounting point:

This work was done by a professional (i.e. NOT me!). There are 5 mounting points for the seats so I had the guy provide for all 5 points (2 inside, 1 outside front, and 2 outside rear). The seat is attached via 5 bolts that screw into the floorpan from inside the seat rails.

      Jocko,
I just bought a set of E93 seats also. Have you wired yours yet? I'm looking at this SMFA module stuff and hoping I didn't get in over my head! Is there a easy way to wire?

The installer attached a set of wires to the seats so I can operate the seats via a 12v battery. I'm not sure if the seats will retain the Memory settings under my current setup. I know you can get wiring harnesses for the seats from BMW. I'm not sure what that does for you. Maybe Daredvl22 can chime in on this--- I think he has a good handle on wiring these seats.
