      G-Body manual trans conversion

Does anyone know if someone makes a conversion kit for 78-88 G-Bodies? I was going to build a 72 Camaro but that is not going to happen now. I am going to be looking for an 84 to 88 Monte SS to PT. The plan is either an LS1 or SBC w/ a T56. Please let me know if someone makes a kit. Thanks guys.

yeah I heard Keisler can do it. you also can check the www.montecarloss.com-forums for write-ups, a lot of SS-owner's did the T56 swap. I also want to do it but I can't find any parts here in Germany........

I just read anywhere in a forum that a guy talked to Keisler and they did a kit for his g-body (think it was a 78-80 Malibu 2door).

Here is a thread about manual swaps on montecarloss.com

Just about everything you need to know can be found here. Many differant possiblities. http://www.garage-scene.com/t5-into-ag-body/

Myself, I have an 86 Cutlass with a 383 and I started out with a T5 and mid-80's hydraulic setup. Mid-80 pedals, hydraulic master/slave cylinder, flywheel and bellhousing. It just never felt "right" to me. Some people love this setup.

When I converted to 6 speed, I went with the Aftermarket T56 and a Lakewood bellhousing for an 83 Camaro which uses the mechanical linkage instead of the hydraulics. Retained the same pedals. I used the SpeedDirect.com sphereical rod ends. I personally like the mechanical setup better. Both configurations used the clutch/pressure plate for the T5.

Any other questions just let me know. And yes, a manual will completely change the feel of the car!!!
