      67 Elco project

Hey everyone, Well I finally sold my Ram diesel and I'm pickin up this car on monday. Went and checked it out. She's a little ruff around the edges but I'll have her in good shape in no time at all. It'll have a Best of show quality paint job, light suspension/brake upgrades, 700r4 and eventually I'd like to do a Procharged or magnacharged 383. It'll be my DD so I won't be having it out of commission for a long period of time. right now its got a 350 4 bolt main block, and a PG 2spd. I'm excited to have a project again. I never thought I'd get an Elco but I saw it on C/L for $1500 and couldn't resist. So lets hear your ideas if you've got any for me.

I wish we had those around here for that price. All ours are rusted out and cost more.

Bringing this back from the Dead. So life happened and i got married and had kids, and businesses and a home to remodel. But I'm tired of work not getting done on the car so I'm trying to get one thing done a night and eventually it'll get done. I've put new floors in, cleaned and undercoated the car with raptor liner. The chassis has been blasted and painted and all new fuel and brake lines have been run. Now that the body is back in the chassis, firewall smoothed and the front end has been fitted and the whole car has been body worked and I'm ready to spray my last coat of high build primer this weekend. It been an agonizing decision but I've decided on F8 Green for color. I had an old friend Michael Castilione do up a rendering for me and it came out great. Just scored a set like new Recaro seats as well. Also recently mounted the Derale trans cooler with shroud and fan behind the front bumper on the passenger side. Sorry for the sideways pictures. I'm not sure how to make them straight.

Looks like a Rat replaced the Mouse, somewhere during the transition. Always great to see another 64-72 Elky come back to life, especially in restomod or protouring trim.

Great color choice. I would make the wheels with gold centers and a polished lip. That would look amazing with the green.

Is there anything you don't suggest gold centered wheels for? LOL.
Are you a closet Subaru fan?
(J/k...I think I've seen at least 3 of your posts on various builds suggesting gold center wheels. I'm sensing a trend.)

Also, I agree. It probably would look pretty good.

Plenty of exterior colors don't look good with gold wheels, but green certainly does! I wouldn't run gold wheels on any shade of gray...or silver....

Gold is the new black ;-)

Thanks guys. Yes, Andrew the thought has crossed my mind. We'll see as I get closer to the end. I originally painted the cast centers clear when I first got them. Its been so long, they'll need to be polished ant probably new tires. So powder coating them is a probably gonna happen

Well, I got the car painted last weekend. It only took 8 years. I also purchased a Holley Sniper EFI system with ther new ignition system as well. Merry XMAS to me.

If you’re suggesting sending men with weapons of war to take my weapons of war, then I’m fairly certain that’s what’s called an act of war… and the definition of tyranny.which coincidentally is the reason for the second amendment to begin with!

Looks great so far. What did those recaros come out of, or are they universal fit seats?
