      Remote oil filter pics

Does anyone have pics or links of any remote oil filters mounted in the engine bay? I need to get a few ideas of a mounting location.

Did you have to us this type fitting? If not what company fitting did you use & did you have any problems?

I ordered the needed fittings from CV at the time I purchased the filter mount.

The hoses are Earl's Prolite 350. I used it for the short run fuel lines also. The fittings are o'ring style to AN as specified by Pure Power. Not sure how long the hoses will hold up,but they are sure easier to work with than SS. And look better to my eye.

As long as you have already decided to go with a remote filter, you should seriously consider stepping up to the large case type. For some of the nicer looking remote mounts, check out peterson. Top drawer stuff.

Here is a pic showing an 8" tall standard diameter filter next to a large case type. Ive been using these large filters for a long time. No pressure drop, quadruple the filter area, so if you want, you can do a filter change every other oil change. And it doubles as a remote oil tank (~2 qts). The Oberg is a chunk filter only. Havent used one of those in a long time.

CV Products has one for the Fram HP1. Its larger than my factory filter but I don't think it's as larger as that K&N. I will check on this also.

So I don't over look any companines, know of any good high pressure oil pumps for Ford Small Blocks?

Im using this one in my new Pontiac motor. As far as wet sump pumps go, these guys make a very good one.

Sounds good, looks like I may need a new pick up. I will have to give them a call. Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks Yellow Heap, looks just like the one I called about. Not bad prices either for a quality product, I was surprised.

You really want to keep the filter closer to the same level as the oil pan... or it will empty... and you may run into oiling/oil pressure at start up issues.

Just as an FYI, that filter is the same one used on Ford (International) 6.9L and 7.3L Diesels (I had a 91 F350 7.3L). May save a couple bucks on the filter costs over the K&N one for us po' folks.

Edit: here is a mount that uses the big filter http://www.moroso.com/catalog/catego...?catcode=21001
