      My 1967 Camaro Project

Thought I would share one of the projects I'm working on. I found this car as a rolling chassis in really, really good condition (gotta love california cars). It had been media blasted and epoxy primed already and the guy just didn't feel like finishing it. No rust in this car, anywhere. Two months later I got the car back with paint! It's back at their shop now for color sanding and final assembly.

So here's what I'm doing with this car:

      LS1 and T56
DIY front mount single 70mm turbo
      Chris Alston g-bar 4-link with adjustible vari-shocks.
SC&C Adjustable UCAs and tall ball joints
Vintage air - need to figure out where to mount the compressor with the turbo
      Power windows
19x9.5 rear wheels and 18x8 fronts
Undecided on the brakes, probably one of kore3's kits

      Anyway, here's a few pics

Oh so you got to skip all the paint and body work step and just get to throw an engine tranny 4 link and other cool stuff in. i HATE YOU but seriously you hit the jackpot man. This will certainly be a quicker project then most, love the wheels. Oh and more pics

haha, yeah, I feel kind of spoiled with this one. I paid my dues with the last 69 Camaro I bought from the east coast. I had to replace literally everything but the inner structure and the roof, it was brutal. I was so burned out on that car after all the metal work that I sold it.

This project is much more enjoyable! Will definitely share some more pics as it moves along.

Sweet, I'm building a 67 also out at Peterson AFB, CO. If you ever have anything you want to run by me just shoot me a PM. I'm no 1st gen expert, but working on it and have run into issues and found some pretty cool solutions.

      Cool project!

Hey guys, thought I would share some new pictures of the car. It's basically done and I've been driving it all over the place.

The turbo setup turned out great and really surprises people when they hear it spool up!

Thanks for the compliments guys! I am planning to take some video in the next couple days - will share when I do.

For the hot side I used stock 1998 camaro manifolds. There is a pipe that runs under the transmission from the driver side that merges on the passenger side and runs up to the front where the turbo is mounted. I used 2.5 inch mandrel bends and pipe with a couple of v-bands that allow the cross member to come out for disassembly etc. I am not running an intercooler or meth at this time, the charge goes directly from the turbo to the manifold intake.

The turbo is a master power T70 with .96 AR turbine housing. The wastegate is a turbosmart 38mm with a 7 psi spring. I've only street tuned it, but it is really really fast! It starts spooling around 2800 rpm and is in full boost by 3500. Motor is a stock LS1 with heavy duty valve springs and hardened pushrods.

The funny thing is this car has 2.73 gears, but it is the fastest street car I have ever had by far. Turbos love load and the tall gears seem to work well. A set of 3.31 would probably be a perfect all around gear for this setup.
