New Wheels for my 68 Camaro

When I bought the car, I was going to put on the American Racing torque thrust wheels. We tried 3 different sets that the seller had, but the backspacing for the fronts wasn't right on any of them. The car is lowered and the ones he had kept rubbing the fender lip.

I had my choice of any wheels he had and these were the ones that fit.

Boyd Coddington wheels. 18's in front & 20's in back.

It's more bling than I was originally going for, but I like the look better than the stock rally's I had on there. With the lowered suspension and no emblems anywhere, I thought these looked better on the car.

I still need to figure out the source of the vibration in the drivetrain. I'm going to bring the car over to the shop on Monday so they can check to make sure I don't have a bent axle and then pull the driveshaft to get it balanced. Hopefully, that will solve that issue.

      Wheels look nice.

Have you thought about checking your drive line angle?

I have always loved those wheel, I wish I had gotten those instead of the TTIIs.

What's the backspacing on those wheels, front and rear?

      Nice stance as well..

      1) TT2's way overplayed, those wheels are much better
      B) Front could go down more to match the gap in the rear or even slightly more then that. 1" maybe?
      3) make sure you check out the pinion angle for the vibration. My camaro had a vibration with a brand new drive shaft that was horrible at higher speeds especially on decel.. could be the culprit.
looks nice to me! Rear wheel fitment looks just right! As questioned above what is the backspace/ sizing on the wheels? Minitub?

The rear axle was shortened and there's a mini-tub in the wheel wells.

Sorry, but I have no idea on the backspacing for the wheels. The builder uses them on a lot of his cars, and he builds a lot of 68 Camaros, so he has the details. I'll try to get them for everyone.

I don't think I can lower the front. I don't think the wheel is tucked in far enough to do it.

I'm going to read tonight about checking pinion angle and see if I can do that in the morning.

      Question.
Has the rear been modified in any way?

Yes, the rear has a mini-tube and the rear axle has been narrowed. I don't know how much though. I'll call this week to get some specs for you.
