carbon fiber tube material
http://www.solarcomposites.com/compo...20sleeves.html
The above link is for a cabon fiber/composite site. They have biaxial sleeve carbon fiber or carbon fiber and kevlar, etc. They also sell heat shring tubing to use when molding the tubes over a shaft. You slip the sleeve over a mandrel, doesn't have to be round, coat it with resin, then slip heat shrink tubing over that and then heat the tube to constrict the heat shrink. After the resin sets up, slit the heat shrink tube with a seam splitter, a tool used to take stiches out of clothing.
They carry some pretty large sleave diameters and heat shrink tube diameters, big enough for and intake tube.
My boss showed this to me today and I thought I would share.
Looks like I need to get started on the next project so I can put some of this to use.
