      Blasting: paint removal???'s

I am going to strip the body of my Mustang of its many layers of paint. I need to know where I can buy that much Baking Soda (guess 200lbs??)?? I have come up empty locally and a Google search did not help much. Any ideas??????
      Thanks in advance!

i would look for a media blaster and have them do it, up here guys charge 60 an hr media blasting and they usually do a whole car in 4-6 hours, you will spedn some money on the soda and it will take you a real long time

Dupont Starblast works really good and doesn't warp or heat the metal. I buy it for 8.00 per 50 lb bag. I would also suggest chemical stripper for a whole body, it works easily and a lot of them are neutralized with water so no left over residue, of course the starblast takes care of that too.

I prefer media blast and I job out all my cars, the mess and hassle around my shop are worth what I have to pay. I pay between $100-$200 depending on amount of the car I have done(camaro body vs. 71 Sub). Find a good dude who does cars or bikes not industrial equipment. I was stationed at Ft Bragg a few years ago and I used a guy in Sanford who was great. Can't remember his name but he was a Mustang freak if that helps at all.

Hey Restomod, Starblast is not plastic media, it is sort of sand and metal like material. I have used it a lot and I find it to work very well.

Thanks Tom!! Woodman Thanks for the tip but Sanford is about 7 or 8 hours from here.....I have to do it myself I rarely have ANYONE work on my cars. After the 34 Ford truck I did (that EVERYONE said I was crazy to buy) blasting the Stang is easy. Thanks again guys!!!!!

I don't know how you guys are getting media blasting that cheap. Here in OK where everything is normally cheaper, sand or silica blasting is $60/hr and media is $100/hr.
