      Renderings

We need someone to do renderings for a couple of upcoming builds.

Any recommendations as to who can do this for us?

      Thanks in advance!

There are a bunch of great guys on this sight with amazing chops and wicked style. Among those not yet mentioned, I love Murray Pfaff who did my car; pfaffdesigns.com And I'm also a huge fan of Kris Horton's style; carsbykris.com

There are a lot of talented designers out there. I am working with Ben Hermance, Jason Rushforth, and John McBride on various projects. All three have great design ideas for mopars for me. You couldn't go wrong picking anyone of the three of them.

      Thanks

Thanks for the references Phil, Mike R and Mike S! I'm glad you were all proud enough of the projects we worked on together that you can pass my name along with confidence to others. I appreciate it! It makes the constant All-nighters after my full-time design job and taking care of my family worthwhile. Yes, I do this part time and I bust my a$$ to get projects done as fast as I can because I, like many people, hate to wait for things. If there's one thing I can't stand, it's being the one holding up a project. It's a good thing I'm an insomniac....it's very convenient. LOL

Brian, I remember our phone conversation over a year and a half ago where you made it clear to me that you have a bad taste in your mouth left by one of the designers that does this "part-time", but why paint with such a broad brush by discounting everyone in that status? It's unfortunate that the project didn't work out but I've heard both sides of your story and you're leaving out quite a bit.

In addition, if I recall correctly, I've noticed your lasting negative sentiment towards almost anyone other than Thom Taylor (an idol of mine) that is used by someone. I'm glad you are very happy with Thom's work, that's what it's all about. However, I take offense to you to criticizing other's preferences on artists/designers without any experience with any of them other than the one that wasn't a good fit for you. That's like directly criticizing someone's taste in food or music.

BTW...I know what the "established" designers charge and I know the amount of time it takes to create their masterpieces. By using computers (which many don't use) I can make a fully revisable rendering in slightly more time for usually less money. And I'm talking about "designed" modifications not just a wheel and color change. It all depends on what you want to spend, I can work to a budget using multiple methods and medium.

To your credit you have mentioned the point correctly that there are "Artists/Illustrators" and there are "Designers". That is true. In fact, I would categorize many of the full-time guys in the former and many of the part-timers in the latter.

Yes, some of us, including myself, have formal design training, be it Graphic or Industrial Design. I happen to design products for multi-million dollar companies during the day so I think there's something to be said for experience that can easily be translated into something I have an immense passion for. And, due to the opportunities provided by many of the members of this forum and others that have seen my work, I will be going full-time shortly. This will allow me to get to more projects faster.

Again, I cannot thank those who recommended me enough and I look forward to future opportunities to help you out.

John, the best advice I can give you is to look at all the artist's portfolios, pick the styles you like and give any of us a call for a quote. Everyone I know that is is a member here and Lat-g.net are great guys with incredible talent, I'm proud to call them friends rather than competitors. I've never hesitated to send work towards others that I felt were a better fit for a project/client. Good luck in your search!

Ben, excellent points... for sure. I think that some group me into the "Artists/Illustrators" side, yet I am a Design Director (doing design work that is seen by hundreds of thousands daily) and like yourself do this on the side. Sometimes the project it depends on what the client wants? If all they want is a wheel, tire, and paint, then its there project and thats what we do. Other times you submit pages of ideas and see what comes out of those rough sketches. I have not been as fortunate as yourself in landing the super design jobs but I have some that I have done that I cannot show and some coming up that will hopefully move me over to the designer side and not the artist side. The time game is one that is hard to figure out. Design can some times just flow out the end of a pencil and other times we fight to get the design out. This can lead to onger than expected times on the projects.

Once again I wish I had your talent and am amazed as usual at what you produce. You and Problem Child Kustoms are my favorites right now. Now get back to work and see you in Vegas.............

Right on the money as usual!

I don't know dude, I may have to wait in line like everyone else for an autograph from you at SEMA...don't forget me! The stuff you've been crankin out lately blows me away. The PHR dream car of the month you did was beautiful! Anything new with the software, that is pure genius!

Brian Stupski at PCK does incredible work, very graphic and dramatic stuff in contrast to my more "engineering/blueprint" style. Though I'm trying to play around with the perspectives to get them more dynamic looking and less static. It's a bit of a balancing act.

Chris Ito has done some work for me and I was totally satisfied. He strives to do what you want instead of cramming something down your throat you don't necessarily agree with. He has excellent taste and is an absolute pleasure to work with. 940-300-7729 cell

      John,
Lots of great referrals here and I am sure any one of them will do a great job.

I had Ben Hermance do a rendering several months back on a 58 Corvette. This was for a B-day gift. As usual I waited to the last minute to get a gift. Well I called Ben and explained my situation. We discussed the project and the different options for this rendering. In less than a week he was overnighting the rendering to me so I could have it framed and ready for the surprise B-day party.
Just Incredible Work! I know he stayed up late nights getting this done and I cannot thank him enough. On top of that he sent the rendering without me paying him first. Class Act! You would not be disappointed working with Ben.

Ben and Carter, you guys both do great work. I'm a huge fan of both your styles.

I'm the wheels/tires and paint photoshop artist. If that's what you need John, I'd be glad to help.
