      Fuel system questions

I'm test fitting my D1-X blown, 472, 67 Mustang before it goes to paint and I was hoping to get help here on my fuel system. I've bought all Aeromotive 1000 for my blowthru setup. My questions:

1- Does anyone have pictures showing where they mounted their pump and filter (s) they can post or email me at [email protected] please?

2- I dropped my fuel cell into the floor so my sump is low. Aeromotive says to mount the pump below the sump level. I don't think that's a good idea because the pump can get snagged too easily sitting low. What happens if the pump is higher than the inlet?

3- Are folks running a pre pump to the A1000?

4- Are you using 2 filters?

5-I am planning on using stainless braided line for the feed and return. Has anyone built a shield, channel or guard to protect the line funning from the tank that I could see pictures?

      Thanks all!

      Mike

I've mounted my A1000's below the top of the tank, but not necessarily below the bottom of the sump, they worked fine. I run a #10 inlet on that pump with a 100 micron filter in front of the pump; 30 micron filter after, don't mix them up!

A friend has several Mustangs with A1000 pumps and Fuel Safes... all the A1000's are mounted on top of the trunk floor, so they're basically mounted right on top of the Fuel Safe. None of them have experienced any issues to date and 2 of the cars are dedicated road race track cars.

As Jody said don't go too small on the suction line, for an A1000 I'd use a -10 (5/8"), and if you run a pre-pump filter make sure it's 100 micron.

      Warning!! Chevy photos below.
I followed instructions. Pump below tank - close to sump and battery at rear of car. Filters before and after pump. No pre-pump necessary. AN-10 line to pump, -8 to engine. I ran a SS line along the frame up to the fuel rail. Low pressure -8 teflon line for return back to tank.

      Works like a champ!
