If you had this setup, what would you do to make it better?
Well the bodywork is pretty much a done deal
now i want to focus on bringing this engine to the top of its game.
i want to make a streetfighter reliable-ish pump gas road warrior that can handle an hour drive at least.
here is my setup.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
406 cubic inch SB chevrolet. This engine is 6.6
The engine block was fully reconditioned (bored .030" over in
the process),
Edelbrock Performer RPM aluminum heads (64cc straight plug
chambers)
Edelbrock Performer RPM aluminum intake manifold
Lunati cast crank and pistons assembled for 10:00-1 compression
Lunati "number 10" 292/
292, Lift
.480/ .480
Holley 750 vacuum advance carburetor
GM HEI distributor
The transmission is a TH350 3 speed automatic.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
now i know for a fact i can update that cam.. but what would you do to take this and make it a monster?
ive heard good things about a SB 406 being pretty fast, so how could i make it better.

09-04-2006 #2So - is this stuff you already have?
What kind of budget do you have to work with?1971 Camaro, 383 stroker ~500HP,M21 Trans with lightened flywheel. All Sorts of Auto-x Goodness in the Suspension. 12" Brakes ->SOLD
But ask me about my 2004 STi Auto-x car...
Just call me Brett
09-04-2006 #3Sell it all on e-bay, buy an LS2 Crate, replace the Heads with AFR 205's and a Comp cam, and replace the stock intake with a FAST EFI. You should get around the same HP with a MUCH better idle and reliability and around 100lbs less of sprung weight!(and you can even drive it over an hour!)
P.S. Ya might wanna bump the tranny up to a TKO 500 to!'66 Chevy II - The "NEW" '69 Camaro!
