Who can do LS1 harness/pcm mods?

Gents, I posed this question on the old website and was given the following e-mail address. [email protected]. I just recently got around to it and have had no response for over a week. Can someone direct me to a company or individual that is able to perform the mods necessary to swap the LS1 into my Camaro. I would like to have all the uneeded wiring removed (emmisions etc...) and have the pcm re flashed so I can get it running.

      Thanks, Noel.

Thanks for the tip. From the looks of that site, it's an extra $300 for a 'prettier' harness, am I about right on that one? LS1NOVA which way did you go? Redoing your factory piece or buying the custom harness. Is the factory harness long enough to place the pcm in the glovebox on a camaro?

I Dont Think The Factory Harness Is Long Enough. I Mocked One Up And You Could Maybe Reach The Inside Of The Firewall But Probably Not All The Way To The Glovebox. I Will Probably Sell The Factory One And Have Speartech Make One. It Looks Nicer And He Can Do Any Custom Options Like The Truck/ls6 Mas Or A 4l80e, And Can Make Any Lenghth. I Think It Would Be Worth The Extra Money.

I would look at Painless for your harness needs. If you are running stock motor then the stock pcm will be fine. If your motor is modifed I would contact Ed Wright in Tulsa. He is suppose to be the best in the midwest.

The downsides of the Painless harness is they come with all the emissions wiring also, which you may or may not need. A harness looks a LOT better without the rear o2's, egr, etc. Perrsonally i dont like extra wiring laying around not plugged in. Also you have to use a 98/99 PCM. Although it is a couple hundred bucks cheaper. In this situation, I definately think you get what you pay for.

Dana Dash did my harness for the RX7. Fast turn around and fair price.

Dana did a fine job. I just had him rework the stock harness. He added the fuel pump and fan relays. He also added a pair of rear O2 sims as well as a VATS disable module and CAGS module. The harness was also double checked to make sure nothing was shorted out or cut. The car started on the first crank. It scared the s**t out of me.

He does most of the harnasses for the guys doing the Mazda swaps. I have yet to hear any complaints.

      Noel,
I second the nomination for Speartech. He lives about 35 miles from me & did my LT1/T56 harness for an 86 Monte. He modified the factory harness for me. I wish now I would have had the custom harness made. He will make it to your requests. Remove whatever you don't need or want, and has connections for gauges if needed, SES light, & so on. He can also reprogram the PCM for engine upgrades, removal of emissions, & removal of skipshift.

John (owner of Speartech), worked for Delco/Delphi for years in the engine room. He made harnesses there for the engines on the dyno & for the ones being used to cycle test starters.

      Just my $.02.

Noel, email me @ [email protected] I have some questions for you.

If you got the room to mount the pcm out side the car, and the bulky wiring is not a problem contact Dana. If you wanting a custom harness John at Speartech makes a really nice clean, and small harness. We have also been using a guy from FL (Jerod) for some custom made stuff. As you can see on the trucks we had room, and used the factory harness. On Mark's 69 Cmaro we wanted something hidden, and John hooked us up.

      Thanks Scott

BTW: Scot it's good to see the SS again.

Not yet. In fact I'm still flipping coins on Gen I vs LSx. Just trying to flesh out my contacts & information notebook.

When the time comes I will be hitting up a number of folks for help. The pay is good (Kathy's cooking). There is a really good reason why Ive gained 20lbs in the two years we've been together.

I did my own harness, believe it or not, it is not that hard. If you get a wiring diagram you can easily pick off all the unecessary wiring. I can also tell you exactly what wires to ditch if needed. Most of the wiring will be removed if you are ditching all the emission stuff.
I can do your pcm mods if needed. I use Efilive Flashscan. I tune cars including my own twin turbo ls1 with speed density and 96 lb/hr/ injectors.

Let me know if I can help.,
