Cracked Tunnel at firewall

First of all, I am new to this forum...so HI !!!

Second, thanks to the many of you that provide such valuable information for those of us noobs that need to know. This site is awesome!

Now down to the meat and potatoes...
Attached is a picture of a crack in the tunnel, starting just beyond the firewall. I am wondering if anyone has seen anything like this? I bought this car off ebay (ugh...) and am finding all kinds of new things about this car. It turned from being a mild fixer-upper to a what-the-heck frame off restoration. I also found that 1/4 of the car has been replaced. There is a seam starting just behind the passenger seat that goes to the middle of the tunnel, through the trunk, and all the way to the rear of the car. I hope that things like this won't affect the value of the car (not that it matters as it is a gift for my wife and I cannot see us selling it anytime soon).
