Rocket Racing Wheels forging ahead with New Sizes 18x11 - 20x12

Hey Guys.

Rocket Racing Wheels is now moving forward and adding new 18x11 and 20x12 sizes soon to the Rocket Attack wheel. As you are probably already aware, these wheels are not custom-built wheels and require a significant investment with production runs for each spec chosen. This requires input from the community and research, as to which specifications would be the most in demand. While we will not be able to deliver every backspacing, our goal is to deliver to the market an affordable option of on the shelf, in the box, ready-to-ship wheels, that until now were only available in very expensive custom-built wheels. We want to hear from you, to make sure that we hit the mark.

18x11 Question - So far, we have received expressed interest in backspacing choices mainly between 6.00" - 7.50" backspacing on 18x11 size. What say you? Also, if you are looking for something outside of this backspacing range, please specify your vehicle application and which end of the car.

20x12 Question - Is there any interest here on Pro-Touring in the 20x12 sizing? If so, what backspacing and bolt pattern?

To answer the oft asked question of 19". Yes, we are still considering adding 19" sizes as well. We very much appreciate your time and input now on the 18x11 and 20x12.

i think 18x11 with 6in and 7in bs. I currently have Rocket attack with 18x10 6in bs and 273/35/18 tires front and rear on my 1969 camaro that i autocross frequently. I may want to go 315 tires all around in the future. For my stock 12 bolt and mini tub, 7 in bs would work for rear and 6in bs in front after i add wide fenders. Great product

Sounds like more modern offsets. For alot of Detroit Speed equipped cars and many other minitubbed cars you will need a 5.5 BS on an 12" wheel typically. I don't know what your pad range is, but your missing out on alot of cars by not offering a 18x12 for those that don't want to run a 20

Thanks for feedback Mike. We started with 18x12 and now have them on the shelf and ready to ship in 5.50" and 6.00" backspacing in two different finishes and 3 bolt patterns. Priced at $550.00 each for 18x12.

Dang. You're killing me Rod. Haha. Seriously, we already have 4 different backspacing in 18x10 on the shelf in 3 bolt patterns and 2 stock finishes. If we offered up 18x11 in multiple backspacing, could you make work? If so, what backspacing. Rod, thanks so much for your feedback.

I'm running a DSE subframe in Dust Off and my current front wheels are 18x10 with 6.750" back space and these fit the stock fenders. If you offered a 6.50" back space wheel one could adjust with a .250" spacer.

An 18x11, 19x11, or 20x11 with +6 or +8 offset would be a hit with 68-72 Chevelle/El Camino owners, especially if the price can be kept under $500/each.
A decent selection of moderately-priced 19" wheels would fill a need no one else has tried to do.

You're on to something with the spacers and if you need to make up the .250" in thread engagement, we offer ET Style lugs that have shank and conical seat. However, to get you to the 6.75 backspacing with .250" spacer, we need to build you a 7.00" backspacing. If you use a 6.50" and throw a spacer at it, you'll essentially be at 6.25". Thanks for bringing the spacer into the discussion because it's a no brainer with the ET Style lugs. Just think of it as extending the mounting pad of the wheel, which technically also increases your X-Factor brake caliper clearance. Thanks for your suggestion/comments!
