LS3 intake cover question about painting it

I'd like to paint the intake manifold on my LS3. The rear runner has that flat spot I'd like to get rid of it. Should I try to fill it or are there aftermarket replacements that don't have that flat spot? My searches haven't turned up much. Picture shows the area I'm talking about circled in red. Thanks.

Is it a defect? If it’s flat by design, they will all be?

It's not a defect, they all have it. It must be for clearance at the cowl on production vehicles. I have plenty of room, just want to fix it for cosmetic reasons.

You might like the RotoFab cover. It is one piece fiberglass and goes over your existing cover. You can paint it easily and probably doesn't have the flat spot. I'm going with the same but in carbon fiber finish.

What is it made of? Seems that there would be some way to bodywork it and paint it?

Thanks for the replies. It looks like removing the cover and then body work and paint the manifold itself is the way to go.
