10 year lurker finally posting...
Hi all,
Yes, i have been lurking around on this site for 10 years with only one post but never an intro. Finally as I am embarking on my 3rd evolution of my 1971 Chevelle with an auto-crossing/road course set up I figured now would be as good of a time as any.
I might re-post this into the project forum but here is my set up:
Current:
- Factory suspension with lowering springs
- Ford 9" rear end 3.89 ratio
- Gen I SBC with a D1SC Procharger and a T-56 Six Speed- 4 Bolt main ARP studded everything
- Scat forged 3.75 stroke crank
- Scat forged H-Beam rods
- JE 29cc dish forged pistons
- Crappy GM bow-tie aluminum heads
- Solid roller 242/254 .571/.583 on a 114*
- Edelbrock single plane
- Fitech 1200 Power Adder
- Snow Performance meth injection
Currently in the works:
- Starting with another frame (so I don't have to blow apart my car right away)
- HPI frame brace
- Front:- Global West negative roll, extended travel set up- Rear:
- Wilwood 13" rotors 6 piston calipers
- Viking double adjustable coilovers- Global West coilover set up.- Wheels:
- no sway bar- I like the classic look the car has now so i plan to use the ET classic v 18" wheels- Tires:- This has been a dilemma that I've been struggling with for a while. Id like to run a 275 up front and a 305 or 315 in the rear and a majority of the tire makers dont go over 275.- Engine:- Another dilemma that I've been trying to cope with. Do i modify and keep my gen 1 sbc and put AFR heads on it along with a different pan or go to an LS set up?
- Either way i'd like to keep it procharged.
I know its a lot for just an intro thread and like i said earlier, i will probably re-post this into the project forum for updates.
I have attached a couple pics showing its current state
Thanks for looking! Any tips or advice is welcomed.
