Depending on the engine combination, it definitely might.

It can...as I said, it all depends on the particular engine. Cam timing and static compression being the most important factors.

My Lingenfelter 427 SBC with 646hp has 12.25 compression and I am running a Lingenfelter special grind solid roller Comp Cam and a MSD Cam Sync Big Cap distributor . I'm hoping that less than 15 degrees crank timing would help in my case. Dave Erlich, Autotrend EFI, has the Holley Advanced Training and he has been doing my tuning and he thinks that it will not help and possibly make the situation worse. I have a feeling that it may help as a bandaid until I get the electrical system fixed.

I would be curious to know his reasoning behind this. But we should probably stop hijacking this thread...LOL

In consulting with Lingenfelter on what the crank timing setting should be with my particular engine build, they recommend that the crank timing setting should be 3-10 degrees. Since, my Holley HP EFI is currently set for 15 degrees, I'll be making a change. I'll probably try 5 degrees.

Also, I am curious if anyone that has the split-second voltage drops if they are running with a dry sump or a wet sump?
