      Lots of progress today...

Made my exhaust system. Its all done with the exception of the tailpipes, which will be easy. I'm waiting until I have the bed back on it for that.

Also mocked up the alternator and cleaned and painted the old brackets. Easy peasy.

Getting close to making some noise...

Got my shifter hooked up to the TH400. Wish I went with a Lokar instead of the Ididit. Had major fitment issues that made a colossal headache out of what should be an easy job. I got it sorted though.

Gauges are in for the last time!

      Interior coming together....

Still hammering away at the wiring. The American Autowire kit really makes it fun.

Welded some brackets onto the frame to mount my battery:

Made my tranny cooler lines. Going to attach about a foot of -6AN to the transmission end for vibration and flexing. Just have to fasten them to the chassis now...

Lots of little details getting done. Hoses, belts, oil pressure senders... Yada yada. Its the "yada yada" that takes more time than the big projects!! I can feel it coming together though. I might be able to drive this beast before too long!

For having the exhaust end right under the cab it sounds pretty good

Once I make some tailpipes it will sound so much better.

I must say that Holley Sniper EFI is impressive. It fired up in about 1/2 a revolution and sat there and idled. Amazing. Seems like it runs perfectly already!

I cant wait to see how yours comes out. The caddy motor is just badass. So glad I decided to bolt it together.

Well, not much progress the last couple weeks. Took me forever to diagnose an electrical gremlin. LONG, sad, frustrating story short.... When you turn your headlights on and the fuel pump cycles along with the EFI... You have a defective HEI ignition module. Yes that really happened.

Now that the truck is 100% operational I am able to get back to making progress.

Installed seatbelts! That was a fun easy project.

Cut the floor and installed my parking brake:

Took it for a drive up and down my dirt road! First time in about 30 years the truck moved under its own power.

      Looks really good!

Are you running both fans on a thermostat, or with direct switches, or both?

And why is the speedometer sitting at 30?

      Max

      Thanks!

The fan relays are controlled by the EFI. It has programmable temp limits for each fan individually. One temp sensor in the block for the EFI and one for the gauge in the panel. Pretty slick.

The speedo needle zero'd out once it got power for the first time.
I did have a defective oil pressure gauge. Had to return the unit to Autometer because the needle was sticking. Came back in a week.

Well not much done the last few weeks due to work but I'm back at it!

I finished hooking up the parking brake cables and cutting them to length. After adjusting the star wheels on the brakes I have a functional parking brake!

All thats left on the project is the bed, and the doors.... Today I got the bed started by dismantling it and unbolting the fenders. I think I might take it all the way apart and have it blasted. Its so simple to take apart.

I need to order a few more parts... Tail gate, front bed panel, hardware, step braces... Oh and I will need to figure out a wood floor too.
