Difference in height between Planted and Wedge Engineering seat bracket for 1st Gen?

Does anyone know whether you get lower seat placement with either the Planted seat bracket or the Wedge Engineering? I'm looking at installing the Recaro Specialist seats in my 69 Firebird and would like feedback on either product. More importantly I'm trying to figure out if one would provide more head room than the other. From some posts it seems a lot of people may be modifying the brackets, but not sure if one required it more than the other.

I got some recovered seats with red diamond stitching and they turned out great. Bought the double locking sliders, so I'm just trying to figure out one is better than the other and where I might find the best price for them?

      thanks, Jake

I haven't had experience with either brands but I have heard of people using Wedge brackets quite often in the import market. Looking at their website I'm not seeing any diagrams, I would just give them a call.

The shop where my Camaro is at had to make them from scratch to get the lowest position out of the seats. Pretty sure Wedge can do this for you.

Well I decided to go ahead and order the Wedge Engineering brackets for my 69 Firebird. My seats came in from Recaro-max, along with the additional leather I bought to recover the rear when I'm ready. Guy did an awesome job!

Once the brackets are in we can compare to the stock seats and make any adjustments if necessary.

These are going into my firebird project and will get the rear seat custom made to match, hence the extra leather.

If the Wedge vehicle specific are made like the Wedge universal brackets I have, they are height adjustable.
      Big dreams, small pockets....

Those seats look outstanding! Did you buy the Recaros from Max and have him do the work, or send to him? I'm really interested in this, Nativefx.

The wedge brackets I ordered were specific to 67-69 Firebirds/Camaro's so I'm not sure they are adjustable. I'll find out when I get them and then I'll test fit to see how they compare to stock seat height.

I bought the seats from him and he recovered then according to what I wanted. He has a lot of seats on hand and if not he can source them. Came out great, but I may decide to order new plastic covers for the hinges as they are used and some of the tabs are broken. Not a big deal if I can get through a dealer, but I got custom seats rather than just stock.
