      DBW pedals and tunes

I was Talking with a shop owner that has done a lot of high dollar LS swaps. (He outsources his tuning). He told me that they can't ever get the same level of driveability with anything other than the pedal that came from the original vehicle if using a used setup or the one with the GM control kit if a new setup is used. I would like to use one of the aftermarket billet pedal assemblies in my car. Do your experiences match my friends or have you had good luck with different pedals?

The pedal driver in the ecm has to match the pedal not the car. I'm personally using the pedal from a corvette and using the GM performance ecm. I needed the corvette pedal because it matched the scarebird bracket I bought.

How do you get the correct driver for an aftermarket pedal?

Do you have a link for what you are looking at? You could get a billet pedal pad that goes on the OEM pedal assembly.

I have used the corvette pedal assembly on several builds & swapped the lokar pedal pad onto it. Fits perfect.

You need to tell us if you are using a Gen 3 or Gen 4 engine...

If you use any of the Gen 4 ECUs (e38, e40, e67...the GM kits use the e67) the pedals are interchangeable. So you can use a C6, CTSV, Monte Carlo, and other pedals. Stay away from Trailblazer SS and GTO pedals as they seem to have their own quirks.

I like the 2008-? Monte Carlo SS pedal. The C6 Corvette pedal is similar and also easily adaptable. The GM kits come with a 2006-? CTSV pedal...

So to answer your question, I would call Clayton and ask what their pedal is based on...My gut feeling is that it will work fine for whatever you want to do.
