Hey guys, how much clearance should there be between transmission tunnel and transmission?

I typically recommend at a minimum 1/4"-3/8" that should keep it from hitting under torque load.

I would like to add that it depends on your mounts. Poly mounts flex less, factory squishy rubber with lots of traction and a manual trans can flex substantially, a tied down engine with a torque strap will be limited and can have tighter clearance..
