New with 1970 Chevelle Nomad project

Just wanted to take a minute and introduce myself. I'm a lifelong car, truck and motorcycle guy. I've always been a mechanic and I spent 30 years in the Navy as a gas turbine specialist. I now work as a mechanic/hydraulic specialist on an ultra deepwater drilling ship. I've been a GM guy since my youth, but I appreciate all cool cars. I got into German cars about 11 years ago and I have a great appreciation for Porsche and BMW's. I currently own a 2003 911 turbo that is making about 650 HP and is great fun for track days. I recently picked up a 1970 Chevelle Nomad wagon that is going the pro tour route. It has a freshly built iron oval port head 496 stroker backed by a newly rebuilt M20 muncie. Out back it has a 2.73 geared with a Richmond powertrax 12 bolt that was completely rebuild with new axles and bearings. I have a pile of parts recently purchased to transform the car. I have AFR 265 CNC chamber heads and a Chris Staub designed hydraulic roller to take the motor over 600 HP and 640 torque. To replace the M20,(which will not stand up to BBC torque) I have a Tremec magnum 6 speed with New McLeod SS clutch and quick time bellhousing. I have a 3 series carrier and 3.73 gears to swap into the 12 bolt. As far as suspension, I have Speedtech Performance Road assault front suspension package and their AFX spindles. Since the AFX spindle bolt up to C5/C6 brakes, I have a Wilwood brake kit with 13 inch rotors and 4 piston calipers. Holding up the rear end, I have UMI upper and lower adjustable bars with the roto-joints. I also have UMI's rear coilover setup with viking double adjustable shocks. I haven't figured out the rear brakes yet, but it will probably be the Kore3 setup. I've got some polished torque thrust IIs, 17x9.5 with 275/40/17 upfront and 18x10 with 295/30/18 out back. I'm forward to getting this on the road soon and having some fun with it. Still haven't decided what to do with exterior, looks pretty ratty right now. I think I'll primer it all black and leave it as is for awhile. I will do the interior so it is livable. I have a little cancer in the passenger front floorboard and much more on drivers side. Other than that and some on lower rear quarters, body is pretty solid. Looking forward to learning some stuff on this site and sharing my knowledge with others.
