Here are a couple of pictures. The top piece is a piece of angle stock welded to the GTO seat rail. Bottom piece is flat stock with bar stock welded to it and the bar stock drilled and tapped to receive the bolt from the rear.

With the bolt coming in from the rear it is very easy to remove the seat and reinstall it.

Just wondering if that extra inch of height would hurt. While i could just weld a flat piece to the rails and get them a lil lower.

I think the location of the bolts holes would be the problem. The bolt hole would be where the edge of the seat rail is. You could drill new holes. Did you state that you had a bench seat? If so the inside holes would have to be new anyways. You could put the bottom section of the seat in place and look things over.

      Thanks for your support guys.
Thanks to you i was able to modify my rails, weldet on som sturdy brackets and mounted the passenger side already.
I leveled the seat mounting points with some plates i found at home depot.. I used construction adhesive to glue them on so i have a leveled base for the rear mounting points of the seats.

I took the rear seat top part appart and was cutting at 5.5 inches meassured from the bottom, i cut a straight cut
Now it should sit at a reasonable height in my 68 GS

Did you guys reshaped the bottom section?
How did you stretch and reattached the leather on the trimmed bottom part? Spray glue? Upholstery clamps?

Regarding the frame, did you just straight cut it.. Or did you weld the frame bottom part back on?

Do you trim the "hump" for better fitment?

How did you mount the rear bottom and top section to the car?
I was thinking to maybe get some plywood and mount the top section on it then mount the whole piece to the car?!
